Fantastic!!. I loved everything about this novel. The setting, the characters, such vivid scenes to take place in your mind. Not a dull page in the book. 3 days to read.

Couldn’t finish.. I read over 300 pages. Very slow, dull, and nothing compelling to make me want to read the rest. Not a fan of this author.

The Night She Disappeared. I greatly enjoyed reading this book! It is an excellent story to share with teens about spending time with peers who do not share the same values and beliefs. Also, the book contains many warnings that all readers can benefit from: beware of narcissists and dysfunctional relationships, be selective and only spend time with others we admire and respect, do not rush into drastic moves with partners we do not really know. I liked Kim, Tullulah, Ryan, and Sophie, but few other characters were likable or trustworthy. Scarlett and her family were damaged beyond repair and very dangerous. Just coming into contact with that family led Liam and Scarlett to murder others and immediately try to justify it! Sophie’s detective skills were exaggerated and the clues were a little far fetched, but I kept reading to see what happened. Beware: beauty is only skin deep, rich does not equate with happiness, be honest with yourself and others about your true feelings. Great lessons!

Where art thou, editor?. Maybe it’s me, but for the second time recently (the first with a book by another writer) I find myself wondering whether the author has an editor. This book is positively turgid for the first half. Then finally, hundreds of pages in, it turns unputdownable. In the end it’s a really good mystery novel. A hundred or a hundred and fifty pages shorter, and it could have been great.

One of Jewell’s best. Just when I think she can’t possibly write another great book, she does it again or I find another one I haven’t enjoyed yet. Her character development is excellent and comes across fresh and crisp with no unnecessary fluff. I have no idea how one person continues to come up with such fresh ideas. Her books are always surprising. I highly recommend this book!

A real page turner!. I rarely review books I’ve read, but this one I’d worthy of a review. I literally found myself reading this long past my normal bedtime. What a great and unexpected twist toward the end! I plan to read more Lisa Jewel books for sure!

Meanwhile Sophie the girlfriend of a headmaster at a boarding school keeps finding signs that say “Dig here”, will there be a connection? A page turner with unexpected twists and turns that will have you wanting more even after the book is finished! Definitely one to add to your TBR list! A great book club pick!

LOVED THIS BOOK!!. Lisa Jewell does it again! This book was well written & I found myself relating to each character because she describes them in such detail. It started a little slow, but, immediately you could feel exactly what Kim Knox (mom) was feeling when her daughter, Tallulah never comes home. It takes you through the emotional waves as she (Kim Knox) fears the worst but doesn’t want to give up hope. This is only the second book I’ve read that surprised me in the plot twists. There are quite a few twists in this book to keep you going & have you craving more and more. Towards the middle of this book, I had a hard time putting it down. The end has closure, everything ties together. I hate when books leave an open ending. I would definitely recommend this read! If you’re questioning it, DO IT! You won’t regret it.

Enjoyable Suspense!. This was a fun read! Didn’t want to put it down!

Meh. There were many times when the plot was way too unbelievable for this read to get more stars. No author would every fail to recognize something hijacked from one of her books. From that point on it was, for me, a comedic read. Not spellbinding, not a thriller, certainly not a page turner. Once you lose trust in the author everything else is weak drivel. Save your money and your time.

Need more!. I definitely need a second book this was really great but I’m desperate to know how everything played out.
