Mercy by David Baldacci Book Summary
FBI Agent Atlee Pine’s harrowing search for her long-lost sister Mercy reaches a boiling point in this breakneck thriller from #1 New York Times bestselling author David Baldacci.
For her entire life, FBI agent Atlee Pine has been searching for her twin sister, Mercy, who was abducted at the age of six and never seen again. Mercy’s disappearance left behind a damaged family that later shattered beyond repair when Atlee’s parents inexplicably abandoned her.
Now, after a perilous investigation that nearly proved fatal, Atlee has finally discovered not only the reason behind her parents’ abandonment and Mercy’s kidnapping, but also the most promising breakthrough yet: proof that Mercy survived her abduction and then escaped her captors many years ago.
Though Atlee is tantalizingly close to her family at last, the final leg of her long road to Mercy will be the most treacherous yet. Mercy left at least one dead body behind before fleeing her captors years before. Atlee has no idea if her sister is still alive, and if so, how she has been surviving all this time. When the truth is finally revealed, Atlee Pine will face the greatest danger yet, and it may well cost her everything.

Mercy. A suspenseful, action packed story! Heartwarming…
Terrible, boring predictable. 60 pages In you have your answers. What took a “seasoned” FBI agent years to find out took a thug less than a week. Worse book of the series, unlikeable characters, predictable after 60 pages how it would end.
Mercy. Emotional read, both high and low.
Attlee Pine series. The best series I’ve read. Couldn’t put it down
Twin Pines. Great twists and turns throughout. An adventure finding her twins was really great
Worth every minute of waiting…. A truly unbelievable ending to Atlee Pine’s journey to find her sister. A plot line that is so ingenious that it could only come from one of the best authors we have today. Get ready to not put this down!
Best book of the Pine Series!. Baldacci hits this one right out of the park……again! The Will Robbie series was my favorite and this series is a close second. Without revealing anything, this book is the best one of the series.
Boring. Bring back Will Robie. So tired of the same thing from Baldacci on either Amos Decker or Atlee Pine. What made Baldacci great was his variety of series & characters that were written & dialogued with passion; he’s lost that and today just goes through the motions releasing sub par after sub par after sub par novels all from the same 2 series’. Sad, he’s let some of the greatest characters & storylines die out even though they’re the reason he’s a household name.
Save your money. Reads like very bad TV. I’ve read the others in this series but 100 pages into this one I couldn’t care less how it ends. Save your money get it from the library and return it before you finish 👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻
Mercy. Great read!
Amazing!. Possibly his best. I have read them all.
5 Stars. Fantastic, if a little outlandish, ending to a long but enjoyable and exciting story. Baldacci did an outstanding job with the story of the Pine family. There is actually much more to these characters I think. I hope he gives it to us. He does tend to walk away from great characters like King and Maxwell. If you haven’t tried this series out, please do so. You’ll thank me.
Good read… ties it all up nicely. Great read & just as adventurous as the rest of the series. Tires it up nicely as a final installment, but also leaves enough room to pick up again without leaving questions or loose ends. Well done and thoroughly enjoyed!
Finally.. Always a fun exciting read.
Not worth it. I’ve read Baldacci for years and generally like his writing. This was deeply disappointing. Could see the “plot twist” coming. It’s like he threw everything into the mix and it really doesn’t stick. No character I liked except maybe Blum. Didn’t care what happened to them. Back to Ken Follett. Now there’s a writer!
Mercy. Thrilling. Girl power.
Amazing conclusion. Wonderfully laid out story. Finally they come together!
Author knows how to keep your attention. Great book
Have Mercy. Start to finish what an awesome read that I expected but did not. Excitement and suspense with a touch of emotion means one of the best reads from one of my favorite authors.
Great Read.. Well choreographed series!
A RIGHT Turn!!. The way the previous Attlee Pine book left off, I wasn’t sure I wanted to read this one. I thought Baldacci got more than a bit off… Very glad I read it. It was hard to put down, which is how I’m accustomed to feeling about his books. He brought it full circle…. Hope there are more to come.
Mercy. Can’t wait for the next chapter.
Mercy. The story was all over the place. The author apparently needed to fill space by adding a character who sought revenge for his brother without logic.
Terrific 4th Installment. Begs for #5, with maybe the addition of the new former female FBI agent rejoining for another adventure!
Great read. The whole series was gripping.
Great Ending to a great series.. Probably my favorite of the series. Couldn’t put it down.
Mercy. Superb! Loved every minute of this book and the others leading up to it. Don’t tell me this is the end…it’s just the beginning for Mercy and Atlee!
Power packed scenes that were riveting to read.. I stayed up until five in the morning trying to finish this last book in this series. Reading the words on the page is like seeing the action sequences in my mind! Totally exhilarating! All though this last book in the Atlee Pine series was hard to take in and sometimes a little unbearable to read through it was still so worth it! Great story telling an excellent read!
Great series. Great up and down
All Four Books. This was a captivating read. I went through the four books in four days. I hope there are a few more stories forthcoming in the Atlee Pine series. Thank you David. Peter Granata, Near Savannah, GA
Mercy. A good read.
Fabulous!!!. An excellent, engrossing story! Strongly recommended!
Baldacci with another winner!. Great page turner. Baldacci at his finest. It will keep you deeply engaged to the end….a Very happy ending with the absolute BEST outcome!
An average read. Not his best, a little too much super agent heroics.
Bravo. Love how the author tied it all together while keeping a nice pace with the book. Highly recommended reading
Wonderful!. Amazing ... the best. I never read books this fast, but I couldn’t stop. Loved it!
Mercy. Simply terrific!!!
Love!!!!. I absolutely loved this book!! It was so worth the wait!!
Mercy. Great read
A great read. Mercy, was an excellent story, one of Baldacci’s best.
Just read. Great way to wrap up a wonderful story
Pleasantly surprised, I really liked it!. I felt several of the recent writings were becoming quite routine. I expected this book to follow that trend. Boy, was I wrong. It’s been a long time since I have read a book that was hard to put down. Now you have me looking for the next one.
Amazing ending. This book was so well written. It answered so many questions.
I’m officially hooked…. Baldacci has a customer for life. The Atlee Pine series just took me on a breathtaking ride. I’m not an emotional guy. But the ending has my eyes moist. A spectacular read!
Pretty Good Read. Well, to the end of the mystery is satisfying, but then what? The trilogy was a good read and there are a fair few plot twists I didn’t see coming. I guess the mystery now is what comes next for Attlee as an FBI agent at the Grand Canyon, and Mercy who doesn’t really fit anywhere just at the moment.
Thrilling. Baldacchino just gets better with each book and he has plenty of them. Each one is dynamite but this one takes the cake. Absolutely thrilling.
Mercy. A moving, thrilling, action packed thriller. We finally meet Atlee’s long lost sister who turns out to be exceptional. A fast fun read…
Mercy. Enjoyed this book and all the twists. Looking forward to his next book
Mercy. That’s really good work David, thank you.
Great Series. Kept me going throughout. Exciting dangerous, well-written, suspenseful and great characters!!
