Fake by Kylie Scott Book Summary

The newest romance from New York Times bestselling, Audie Award winning author Kylie Scott!

He walks the red carpet. She’s more familiar with vacuuming one.

When a scandal tarnishes the reputation of hot as hell A-lister, Patrick Walsh, he needs a reputation rescue, pronto.

Enter waitress Norah Peers–a nobody who’s average with a capital A. She’s available, dependable, and has sworn off men for the rest of her natural born life. In other words: the perfect match for a no-strings fake romance.

For the right amount of money, she can avoid waitressing and play the part of his dependable down-to-earth girlfriend. What she can’t avoid–dammit–is the growing steam between them.

But being hounded by the paparazzi and having her life dissected on social media is a panic attack in the making. And while Patrick might be a charming rogue on screen, in real life he’s a six-foot-two confusing, gorgeous, brooding grump, who keeps her at a distance . . . but also makes her feel like this bond between them might be more than just an act.

Being dumped on cue should be no big deal. Except being fake with Patrick is the realist relationship Norah has ever had. What’s a girl to do, but flip the script, and ask for a re-match made in Hollywood?

Loved it!. I loved this one! This slow burn/fake relationship storyline with a sexy, broody actor will grab you from the beginning to the end. Patrick and Norah’s chemistry is off the charts and their journey will make you swoon and laugh. It’s definitely worth the read.

Sweet and fun read!. Celebrity romances are one of my favorite types of romances to read. I truly enjoyed reading Fake by Kylie Scott. It was such a sweet and fun read. Norah is a waitress where a famous Hollywood actor frequents. When she learns Patrick needs help to fix his reputation, could Norah be the one to help? It would be fake relationship and she would be compensated. Sounds easy right? But what happens when lines start to blur, and their chemistry is undeniable? Norah was just what Patrick needed. She was fun and laidback. I loved reading about their interactions and seeing them fall. This was a quick and entertaining read. Happy reading!

Not Terrible. The story line was really good. If I could I would rate the book a 3.5. The beginning started off kind of slow and just odd. I contemplated giving up on it, but was already too invested. It gets progressively better, however the sentence structure and word choices just didn’t flow right at times. I found myself having to re-read several sentences because some things just didn’t make sense. Once I understood, I was just left thinking, “why did they phrase it that way”? Maybe a bad editor? Not sure, but this book could have been a 4 otherwise.

Couldn’t put it down!. Great story. An easy read with a few twists and a HEA ending. Loved it!

Not fake. Great! Had a little bit of everything you could want in a good read! Humor, angst, sex, real feelings and love.

The Actor and the Waitress—All the Stars!. I absolutely loved this book! Patrick is our grumpy hero who eats at Little Italy to get away from his famous Hollywood actor life. Norah is his waitress. She is average, but loyal—never selling him out. Angie, his agent, is trying to convince him to pick an actress to play his fake girlfriend to save his reputation. But Paddy picks Norah. Begin their world wind relationship! Never mind Norah’s ban on men and Patrick’s never having dated someone for longer than two dates. Get ready for all the feels! Kylie Scott knows how to weave the fairy tale! I love Norah and how her goal is to win real smiles out of her fake boyfriend! And maybe introduce him to some real food! 5 amazing stars

Lost me. Got half way through and gave up.

Loving this new series from Kylie Scott!. Loving this new series from Kylie Scott! I love all of Kylie’s books, so it was a no brainer that I got hooked on this book and the start of this new series! Norah is a waitress trying to find her way in the world after a series of unfortunate events and appears somewhat jaded by life. Patrick is a super famous movie star that has been having trouble with his career, especially after his latest scandal involving an affair with his friend’s wife. He frequents the restaurant Norah works at, and she always waits on him, showing no emotion or feelings of fangirling towards him, which he enjoys as he goes there for a low-key experience. When Patrick’s staff recommends him getting into a relationship to save his image, he is reluctant, and while at the restaurant decides that Norah would be perfect because she treats him like a normal person. After accepting his offer and moving in with him, Norah is amazed at how the other half lives and is constantly pushing the boundaries in place while also getting to know the real Patrick. After some crazy scenarios with a crazed stalker and things turning ugly with Patrick’s ex-lover, I was fully rooting for him and Norah to not only make it to the relationship stage but make it real. I can’t wait to see how Kylie develops this series and what character is next! I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Loved every minute. So romantic.. I needed this. Thank You

Loved this sweet, funny romance!. I love a good fake relationship! This was such a lighthearted, fun and sweet romance. Norah is a waitress who agrees to be in a fake relationship with movie star Patrick so he can repair his reputation and save his career. This is told entirely from Norah's point of view and I actually really enjoyed that. Patrick is quiet, broody and is good at easily hiding his emotions and this worked really well for their story. Norah is a really good, sweet person who has had to put her own dreams on hold as she shoulders responsibility for her grandmother. I loved this premise - celebrity with the girl next door who meet by chance and then pretend to have a real relationship and find themselves becoming close and the lines between what's real and what's fake being blurred. Patrick had a dry sense of humor and his ability to hide his feelings and thoughts was in direct contrast to Norah, who seems to wear her heart on her sleeve and seems to always tell everyone exactly what she is thinking. I loved watching the two of them grow together, and especially loved the humor in the writing- it's witty, smart and fun and I loved this story. I read it in one sitting - once I started I didn't want to put it down until I hit the end. I received an Advanced Reader Copy of this and have voluntarily left an honest review.

A Real Treat. There’s nothing fake about how good Nora and Patrick are together. What starts out as a means to repair a Hollywood star’s damaged reputation turns into so much more. Patrick’s in a bind due to a poor relationship choice that has thrashed his career. Solution? Get a nice fake girlfriend to rehab his image. He decides that Nora, a waitress at an Italian restaurant he likes to quietly frequent, fits the bill. Nora is currently on a break from dating after making one too many poor choices, leading with her heart and not her brain. When she gets the offer, she accepts because, well Patrick. And the money would allow her to help her grandma. But while she’s game to do her best, nothing prepares her for the whirlwind that is Patrick’s life or the enigma that is Patrick himself. So. Much. Fun!

Must read. This was an awesome read. The characters and situations are totally realistic and beautifully written. Definitely one I will re read.

FAKE. Loved this book. Hope this will be a series

Wow. I’m obsessed with Norah & Paddy. Such a great story, I didn’t want it to end!

Loved. I loved everything about this book, it was so hard to put down. So good

Hi. Hi

Another amazing read from Kylie Scott. I freaking love Kylie Scott. Her writing always feels like having a chat with an old friend. Fake is no exception. This trope has been done before but not the way skyline does it. I love that her female characters are so relatable and awesome and her men are swoon worthy flawed humans. Will read again!!

SO GOOD. Loved this book. I couldn’t put it down. Storyline flowed well. Loved this author and can't wait to read another of her books

SO SO GOOD. Ok wow. I wasn’t a little nervous to read this one because sometimes I’m not a fan of the famous and poor trope, but I had read Kylie Scott one previous time before and I absolutely loved the way she wrote so I signed up to read this one. I am was not disappointed at all. I loved every second of this book. Norah was fun and sassy and respectful and she had a hilarious grandmother, who had amazing one liners 🤣. Patrick is the strong quiet type, and you don’t know what he’s thinking, but he opens up and gives more of himself as the book goes on and you fall head over heels for him. I loved their dynamic. They built a friendship and had amazing banter and silliness. Their chemistry was insane. It was a bit of a slow burn, but lots of steam! There were surprising twists, that either shocked me or made my heart melt. It was a great quick read. I couldn’t and didn’t want to put it down. All the side characters were fantastic as well. I wholeheartedly recommend this book! I received an early copy in exchange for an honest review.

passionate and intense romance. FAKE is the first instalment in Kylie Scott’s contemporary, adult WEST HOLLYWOOD erotic, romances series. This is thirty-six year old, Hollywood action star Patrick Walsh, and twenty-nine year old, waitress Norah Peers’ story line. Told from first person perspective (Norah) FAKE follows in the aftermath of a Hollywood scandal in which action star Patrick Walsh’s reputation has been tarnished. In an effort to ‘clean up’ our hero’s image, his publicist suggests a fake relationship but Patrick doesn’t like any of the ‘candidates’ applying for the job. Enter waitress Norah Peers, and the woman with whom Patrick will fall in love. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Patrick and Norah, and the potential fall-out as Patrick’s past come looking for a second chance. Patrick Walsh never expected to find himself the subject of tabloid fodder but a disastrous relationship with a Hollywood starlet found Patrick the fall guy to protect the reputation of the woman he thought he could love. Needing to clean up his image, Patrick suggests our story line heroine, a ‘nobody’ who works at the local Italian eatery where our hero frequents at least once a month. Norah Peers isn’t comfortable playing the love interest of Patrick Walsh –the paparazzi intrusion, and secrets from her past are exposed to the world in an effort to embarrass our story line heroine but Norah finds herself falling for her current ‘employer’, a fall that is likely to break her heart. Norah is a spirited and sassy sweetheart; a relatable character who tries to fit in where she doesn’t belong. The relationship between Patrick and Norah begins as a fake boyfriend/girlfriend in an effort to clean up Patrick’s Hollywood image. When the roles begin to dry up, Patrick’s PR person works overtime in an effort to infuse some much needed support using our heroine in the process but Patrick intends to keep their relationship on a professional level, much to the disappointment our Norah and her heart. The $ex scenes are intimate and seductive without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text but…I did not feel the palpable sexual attraction or desire between our leading couple as Patrick tended to remain aloof and unemotional throughout the story. I think, if the story had been presented in dual first person perspectives, we would have seen a different, more empathetic side to our story line hero. The secondary and supporting characters include Patrick’s assistant Mei, his PR rep Angie as well as Norah’s strong-willed and no-nonsense grandmother; Patrick’s friends Cole Landry and Jack Gilmour; Patrick’s ex Liv Anders. FAKE is a story of betrayal and acceptance; fake relationships and tarnished reputations. The premise is captivating and engaging; the romance is passionate and intense; the characters are energetic. The conflict resolution was a little too easy, I was hoping for more angst and emotional turmoil.

Fake. Sweet and sexy and fun. Norah and Patrick were great. I really liked the characters in this story. Awesome chemistry and I read it in one go.
