Wow. Wow, just wow. The anxiety I felt reading this book makes it a true thriller. The 3 point perspectives made it a little hard to follow in the beginning before the characters were established, but as I read on, it became easier. There was so much to think about and leads to follow that you can’t guess what is going to happen. Overall, amazing boo and now I can finally let my heart calm after that suspense.

Page turner. Lots of twists and turns kept me hooked! Good beach read

Surreal housewives of suburban Oregon. 3.5 stars American author with two MFAs (Dramatic Writing from Smith, Directing from U Idaho) who now teaches Film Studies and Playwriting at U Texas and writes fiction. This is her 4th published title. The ironically named titular street is in a fictional lakefront gated community in Oregon where, according to the blurb, the neighbours “look out for each other.” (Translation: spy on each other.) The book opens with a young male dying in the street after hit-run accident. Fast forward 12 months and the aforementioned victim’s Mom is still looking for answers. She’s split up from her long suffering hubby, who remains supportive, and drives the local cops mad with her theories about who among her neighbours is responsible. Her bestie next door puts on a happy face despite family (hubby and teen daughter) problems of her own. The English chick in the next house along is a shut-in with a new baby and the hubby from hell. The story unfolds in parallel third person narratives from the perspectives of the three protagonists. Everyone has secrets and they are all interlinked. Each protagonist achieves resolution in the end. The blokes, not so much. The prose is crisp, pacing good.
