The Auschwitz Protocol by Jack Carnegie Book Summary

Retired US Detective Emil Janowitz lied to his wife for nearly forty years. Having lost his entire family whilst an inmate of Auschwitz-Birkenau it was simply easier on his soul to invent a past than face up to the demons buried deep inside. Life was good, but then the mail arrived bringing a letter which would result in a voyage of discovery, denunciation and confrontation with the past. Life is a journey, history should not be forgotten, the evil still exists.

Mind Altering. Despite frequently having to remind yourself that this book is actually historical fiction, you can’t help but feel in your bones that the atrocities that the author describes happening to the protagonist aren’t products of the author’s imagination, they are real events that happened to real people. Though the real victims of the Holocaust seldom went on to live such happy lives, the author delivers more facts than any high school textbook ever could. Some criticize the author for telling the tale without having lived it, but it is my opinion that this book opens the eyes of the reader to a different level of understanding to the pain people endured while maintaining respect to the true victims, though we who have never lived the horrors of the Holocaust may never be fully able to grasp the depth of the pain they felt.

Living History. Brilliant first person perspective brings history into the present.

The Auschwitz protocol. I thought it was a true story when I first started reading it. It was that realistic. Well done, Jack.

The Auschwitz Protecal. So very sad. I really don’t understand the ending and who exchanged the souls but I wish I knew.

Good story. This is a good story but difficult to read because of the distracting misuse of commas and odd grammatical constructions. It would be a good book following some editing!

History. This story brought so much to my soul

Amazing. This is such captivating work. I kept forgetting it wasn’t real.

Realistic. It seemed as though the author told his own story as as Auschwitz survivor. A very realistic story and storyteller. Well done.

Auschwitz Protocol. A must read for those who care about the atrocities committed and that we don’t repeat this in any form.
