Positioning by Jack Trout & Al Ries Book Summary
C’è un’unica cosa che rende il marketing di un brand efficace: riuscire a ritagliarsi uno spazio persistente nella mente del consumatore. Non è un caso se i prodotti di maggior successo sono quelli che riescono a imporre il proprio nome all’intera categoria merceologica (pensate a quando in un bar ordinate una Coca). Per farlo ci sono delle regole precise: identificare la giusta nicchia, arrivare per primi, concentrarsi sugli elementi distintivi che già si possiedono, proteggere la propria posizione dai competitor, dall’obsolescenza e dalle minacce interne (come la trappola dell’estensione di linea). Positioning è il manuale d’istruzioni completo per “giocare al gioco del posizionamento”. A quarant’anni esatti dall’uscita del classico di Ries e Trout il posizionamento è diventato uno dei concetti cardine del marketing moderno. Rileggerlo in questa edizione, che accoglie le revisioni e gli aggiornamenti operati dagli autori negli anni, è un esercizio prezioso sia per chi si approccia per la prima volta a questi temi, sia per chi li ha imparati attraverso le parole dei tanti che negli anni li hanno ripresi e filtrati.
