Mystic River. One if the best books I have read in a very long time!!

Haunting. Really enjoyed this book.

Mystic River. Few books effect me like this one did. I saw the movie when it came out years ago. My brother told me to read the book. I just did. Lehane has a masterful ability to punch you in the gut. Kafka related that the harder you tried to figure it all out, the further away you got from it all. Lehane gets you away from it all, but after the last page, you feel you've pulled a little ratty strand that uncoils a little something that just might relate to this thing we call the human condition. Bravo, Lehane. Bravo.

Sooo good!. Amazing gripping writing. So honest and real. Haven't seen the movie, but can't imagine it being better.

Great!. I love the movie, cinematically perfect imho. But the book - so much deeper and moving. The focus on Dave and Celeste is perfect.

Amazing. I remember seeing the movie many years ago and thinking it was awful and that maybe it was a hard book to adapt to film. Finally got around to reading the book and it's AMAZING. The different perspectives, the depth of the characters and the multitude of emotions you the reader will endure, I guarantee you'll stay up waaay past your bedtime reading "just one more chapter." Highly recommend!

Mystic river. This book is full of the F.... Word. Totally uncalled for. The story line is good. Sometimes it's hard to follow the action. I would not recommended this book to anyone who does not like to read swear words every few pages. It's just not good enough to overlook the bad language.

Stellar!. I could not put this down once I started reading it. I've never seen the film version, but even from what I know of it winning Academy Awards and what not, it couldn't hold a candle to this book. Loved it!

Love love love this book!!. This book was great! I kept remembering specific scenes days after I read it, and this rarely happens. I smiled, got angry, and even shed tears while reading this book. If you're looking for a great book with suspense, love, sadness, and the acts of human nature then this is it! The characters were well developed and I managed to fall in love with or hate every single one of them. It is a beautifully written book that deals with the aftermath of loss/death, and just how far a fathers love would go to avenge his daughters death.

Exceptional Read. I wonder if I am sick to enjoy the twisted sadness of the characters. Born into poverty or close to it and never escaping the heart aches of the lifestyle of crime and brutality. Good thriller and I enjoyed trying to decide who the real victim and the real criminal was. Sad reality for many.

Great story!. Starts fast and takes turns u don't see coming.

Mystic River. This book is one of the best books I've read. It was suspenseful, sad, and very thrilling. The movie was great too.

Fantastic From Start to Finish. This is one of my all time favourites! A great mixture of suspense and crime which comes with a shocking end. I also really enjoyed getting to know each of the characters so in depth and exploring their lives. Great book!

Well written. A couple of details were a bit far fetched, but overall, it was excellent. Lehane really brings the characters and setting to life, and the plot is really,really good. Overall, a superb read.
