The Privilege of Youth Book Reviews
The Privilege of Youth by Dave Pelzer Book Summary
The #1 New York Times and #1 internationally bestselling author who is a shining example of what overcoming adversity really means now shares the lost chapter of his uplifting journey, which has touched the lives of millions.
From A Child Called “It” to The Lost Boy, from A Man Named Dave to Help Yourself, Dave Pelzer’s inspirational books have helped countless others triumph over hardship and misfortune. In The Privilege of Youth, he shares the missing chapter of his life: as a boy on the threshold of adulthood. With sensitivity and insight, he recounts the relentless taunting he endured from bullies; but he also describes the thrill of making his first real friends—some of whom he still shares close relationships with today. He writes about the simple pleasures of exploring his neighborhood, while trying to forget the hell waiting for him at home.
From high school to a world beyond the four walls that were his prison for so many years, The Privilege of Youth bravely and compassionately charts this crucial turning point in Dave Pelzer’s life and will inspire a whole new generation of readers.

Dave Pelzer is amazing. I have read his books over and over, even though I never had the same problems as him, he made me a stronger person. I cried and got mad while reading his books. They where very emotional but they made me thankful for why I have in life. I think he is an amazing author and I'm so glad that he wrote these books to help out others. A Child Called "It" was the first I read and it's an experience I will never forget.
Where is his Trilogy???. A Child Called It, The Lost Boy & A Man Named Dave are all amazing books! I searched Dave Pelzer hoping to find any one of those but instead found none?! :( :( I don't understand!
Great book. This book is very moving. I own the hard back copy and I have read it over and over.
remarkable. the story was incredibly touching. it showed that there are cruel ppl in the world thats hurt children jus because of some deep down inside issue they have with there self, or because of something that happened with there childhood. It showed that the boy was very strong even tho all the torture he went thro from his on family. I commend and applaud the author Dave Pelzer for this remarkable story.
