When a rash of horrifying crimes tears through the city, the city calls on Detective Michael Bennett, pulling him away from a seaside retreat with his ten adopted children. Not only does it tear apart their vacation, it leaves the entire family open to attack. Immediately, it becomes clear that the crimes are not the work of an amateur, but of a calculating, efficient, and deadly mastermind.

Tick Tock. I have too agree it was a page turner until the end, but really enjoyed it.

Tick Tock. Excellent book- a definite page turner

Tic Tock. I like the book. But how did Bennett get on list of famous murders? Why did apt go after Bennett? Thanks Wltk

Tick Tock. Great read couldn't put it down!

Tick Tock. Amazing!

Feel let down by the author and the reviews.. Writing this to add my voice to all the reviewers who are disappointed with this book and James Patterson, since truly I feel very let down. If you're looking for a mystery, do not buy this book. There is literally no mystery and any leads that at first appear mysterious are quickly solved not by the main character but... other, smaller characters. Early on I understood the main character as a detective far more concerned with his personal life than his work and surely people can relate to that; bit are those of us who can "main character of a $15 book material?" As the book went on I came to feel the main character and Patterson were alike: neither were too happy to be doing their job and both just wanted things to end. Having those thoughts reflected back at me I just wanted the book to end too. The best thing about this book is Patterson's signature writing style which I do enjoy reading. The worst part is the content in which we see all the people surrounding him do our "heroe's" job for him. From books I like to take away a small lesson or thought that the author is trying to convey. There's nothing new to be gained here.

Awesome. Definite have to read! This was my first James Patterson novel, and I have to say, I couldn't put it down! Will definitely be reading him from now on.

Bennet Vs Cross. I like this book a lot--I have read 2 Bennet books an 4 Cross books now and like the Bennet books a Lil bit more so far--amazing book here!!

Great read. This is a good book. Some places were dull, but I would suggest this book to anyone that likes James Patterson.

Page turner like all JP books..Great!!!. Super fast paced ...you'll be half way through book and not even realize it. Very entertaining and very well written! Like James Patterson! Must read!

Great read. Having read all the recent Alex Cross novels, I was looking for a new series to keep me entertained till another Cross novel is released. Job done. Very good book, similar to the Cross novels in you feel "connected" with the family.

Tick Tock. Outstanding! As expected from James Patterson!

Great read for any horror fan.. Great story, So much attention to detail! Once the story gets a grip it won't let go. A must read!

Great!. This was a great read. No slow parts here, very enthralling! An exciting story.

Yawn.. A huge disappointment. It's not gripping, hard to get into and they advertised the book as being horror when it's clearly mystery/ horror. If this was supposed to be an up front horror book, it's really under-performing.

Tick tock .. Amazing !

Spellbound. I couldn't put the book away without reading just one more page!

Tick tock. Great book

Incredible!!!. I couldn't put this book down and when I had I caught myself thinking about when I could pick it back up to finish it.

All Michael Bennett books series. The best of Patterson, bar none, I read Michael ledwidge died which killed off the series. Too bad, it was headed in the right direction. Now we are left to wonder which woman he would have chosen to replace Maeve. I vote for Emily. Parker, you?

Tick Tock. Great book. Negative reviews were totally off of the mark. Satisfying and entertaining.

Tick Tock - A fast read. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I had previously only read the Alex Cross novels, but this book was just as interesting, even without Detective Cross. The character of the lead detective struck me as a little superficial, however, this was more than made up for by the plot and development of the villain character. I would read others in the series without hesitation. I originally hoped to read this on my upcoming beach vacation, but I completed it before I left! Oh well, onto my Patterson novel featuring Michael Bennett.

I think this was a movie I saw 5 years ago. This book was written at a level that any 12 year old with ADD can easily follow. What's with all of these 2 page chapters that end in mid-thought and pick up on the next page? This book fits in the mystery/suspense category - and not very well. I found the plot to be very predictable. It all felt really familiar and I kept asking myself if I had seen this as a movie before. I won't waste any more of my time reading other books by this author. Any of the Dan Brown books is better than this one, and that's not saying a whole lot.

Again. James Patterson has done it again and won't disappoint you.

Tick Tock. Great mystery & drama! Suspenseful!

Tic Tock. Easy read. Suspenseful.

Tick Tock. JP did it again, great read.

Entertaining beach read but. I enjoyed the book until it ended with several loose ends. It was though the author lost interest and just wanted out.

All. Every single one of James Patterson's books keeps me intrigued the whole way through. Awesome writer.

Tick tock. This book is a must have thriller! You should really purchase it.

Love it!. It's awesome! Buy it!

Great read. Keeps you turning the pages!!!

A sensational Piece of work!. This remarkable thriller definitely rivals with Dan Brown's the lost symbol in it's ability to make the reader a part of the story. Very well written.
