Dlpash. I absolutely adore this book. I can't believe it got a few bad reviews. Yea, it has sad, depressing moments but it's about picking yourself up and carrying in. I have probably read this ten times and when I can find others to read, I skim this one to my favorite parts. I love all of Lisa Kleypas' books but SD is my all-time favorite book. I love the characters ad the story. I've also read the following two books. To finish the series but also to get follow ups on this characters. I love this story, you can't go wrong reading this. If I had one complaint, it's that I wan a Carrington book-there is ALOT to explore there!!!!! Off to read 'rainshadow road' now

Great Story!. What a great book! The heartfelt story of Liberty with all of her hardships growing up and finding love and happiness in the end! I loved it!

Slow starter. I usually love Lisa's novels but this one was really slow to start and get going....felt like it droned on a bit much in the beginning...the main character doesn't meet her leading man until over half way through the book...not what I buy romance novels for!

5 stars!. At first, I was scared I would be disappointed in this book because it was a contemporary novel. I've read all her historical novels and have never been disappointed. Well, she delivered yet another great read! I love this book! It is a must read!

Wonderful. I love her historical books but this was so sweet and I loved it so much!

Great fore story. I am not sure if "fore story" is the correct term, but this story is actually a story that starts from the beginning, instead of a quick "oh, that's why" wrap up at the end. The story builds and builds over time, really developing the main character. There is "an ah-ha" at the end. Beautiful story- enjoying Kleypas' books immensely.

The Travis collection. I read these books for the first time 10 years ago. I have reread them at least one time a year since. I fell absolutely in love with these stories and the characters. They are undeniably Texan, and all around adorable. I have repurchased the books 3 times, the first set fell apart because I read them so much, the second set is for rereading now and the third goes in my book shelf collection.

Great story, exquisite writing. In my opinion, and I consider myself a writer, Lisa Kleypas is the contemporary romance writer I both enjoy and relish reading the most (and I have sampled quite a few writers).

Great read. A beautifully written story of love, tragedy and over coming it all.

Love It!. A really good book which relates one woman's struggles and finding love. There's not a lot of the LK trademark steamy encounters, but a still a beautiful love story.

5 stars!. I really love LK's writing style. Couldn't put the book down and ended up reading it in one day.

Bad. I have read all of her historical romance and love her writing. After page 800 I am so bored with this story I am not going to finish the story. I would love my money back. Story is so depressing and no sexual excitement like her other books.

Terrible and depressing!. Kleypas should stick to historical novels. This one was such a bore I didn't finish it.

Obsessed. Buying this book for like the 4th time?? Finally digitally because I am ALWAYS giving away my hard copies forcing all my friends to read and obsess about this book with me!! So in love with Hardy, then Lisa makes you fall in love with Gage and all is over. You feel like Liberty, like who TF do I choose??? I love them both! 😍😭

Don't listen to the bad reviews!. If you really want a great love story, this is a must read. I'm usually not too keen on mature romance novels but I could not put this down to save my life. Had me smiling, laughing, and crying in so many moments.

Great story, but.... Loved the story line itself but it's written in 1st person and like most 1st person narratives, it rambles on and on with more "filler" than story... It got a little boring and I found myself actually skipping pages without missing anything at all of importance...

Really touching story. Great story. it was sad, funny, mysterious and so totally spot on Texas. No, it's not this author's typical romance but its better in its own way. Gotta love a tailor park girl that rises above, with dignity and grace to boot. I couldn't put it down. Give it a chance, y'all.
