Another gripping novel by Ted Dekker. Once again I started a novel by Ted Dekker and couldn’t put it down. I thought I could read this in a few days but I read it in one, unable to put it down.

Trite. Silly plot and predictable ending.

The Sanctuary. I read this book over the course of two days, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. There are of course logistical factors that could have been handled better (especially with such a grand author as Dekker), but this book can easily be considered a comfortable yet engaging book. I would recommend this book be read while you are in your bed before you sleep, with a cup of hot tea and a noncritical mindset. Though some unsatisfying plot holes can be discovered, mostly in lack of background and in empty storyline alleys, this book is one I would definitely recommend for a transition into a much more in depth novel.

Great!. Definite page turner!

What happened?. Not sure what happened to Ted Dekker's usually sharp style, but this was far too short and blathering to cover this particular topic. I bought the book in part due to the page count listed (I read very quickly and don't like to spend money if its not gonna take me at least a few days to get through it), had that been accurate, maybe the story could have been complete. As it stands too much back story is missing and the female protagonist completely shallow and unlikable because of it. I really expected more, particularly between the overall subject matter coupled with it being handled by T. Dekker.
