Great book. Great characters. I loved the strong females that were intelligent. Definitely a great read.

I've read this over and over!. I love Violet's and Ford's families and the way real scientists of the time period were brought into the story. It's both humorous and sexy. One of my favorite romance novels ever!

Ford & Violet's Story. After reading Lauren Royal's Jewel Trilogy, I was hooked. With "Violet" I have begun the Flower Trilogy. Though the "Violet" plot is not as intricate as those of the Amethyst, Emerald, and Amber novels in the Jewel Trilogy, I found it sensual, sweet, and humorous. I love the hero in "Violet." Ford Chase, a spoiled, youngest brother of three older siblings (whose stories are in the Jewel Trilogy) is not used to having any responsibilities. The laugh-out-loud part is when he takes his five-year-old niece to his home for weeks while measles rage in her home. Being a young bachelor (and somewhat of a rake), Ford is not used to being around children. The fun begins. This adorable little girl intrudes on his life-long obsession with science, but he soon comes to care for her. Ford falls for his neighbor: soon-to-be-21-years old, plain Violet who is intelligent but doesn't think a handsome man like him could love and want to marry her for herself--but only for her inheritance. Because Ford--being a younger son--is poor, most of their story deals with her confusion (which eventually becomes somewhat tedious). Violet and her family are unconventional for 17th century English peers and also provide some humor. Readers may want to read the books in the order they were written to better appreciate "Violet." I gave it only 4 stars because I liked the Jewels better. An avid reader of historical romance, I am only recently a Lauren Royal fan.

Lame. Characters were weak...had to put it down before ch 5- took to long to get interesting

Violet. I've never read any of Lauren's previous books, but that will change. I loved this book. This title caught my eye because I lost my Mom, Violet, a little over a year ago. I love romance novels and this one did not disappoint. I loved all the characters and especially the story line. I'm a sucker for happy endings.

Romance just the way I like it. Violet gives you romance without violence and a great story about history that I found fascinating. I throughly enjoyed reading it.

Violet. Loved this book, such a good read

Delightful series. Second book in this series was just delightful. I enjoyed it immensely, good characterisation, loved the way the author wrote about the difficulties Violet had coming to terms whether she was wanted for herself or her inheritance, on her road to find true love.

Love flowers. Love the storyline and the odd families, normal is boring. Ford is a complex and loving character. Violet and Ford are great together. Thank god for smart and interesting characters in this series. Can’t wait to read more.

Great read. Funny, serious and utterly readable

Violet. I liked how both the main characters were flawed in some way. Lauren Royal used such descriptive words I could almost smell the perfumes Violets mother created and see the beautiful flowers her father tended to daily. This book is a wonderful escape.

Series. A very compelling story and writing was perfect for me - not too much description of surroundings. I would rather use my imagination. Very enjoyable!

Excellent series. Am really enjoying the stories that began in the jewel books--well paced and well written, with an interesting 17th century backdrop and fantastic characters. Lauren Royal is definitely on my list of fave writers. Looking forward to the releases of "Lily" and "Rose" on iBooks!!!
