Magical series. The book touches the heart and leaves you craving for more...and her other books in the series are even better (hard to believe).

Love the series..... I love this series, I can't wait for more! There were hardly any grammar issues. You feel the characters emotions and she keeps the morals high and plot interesting!

Slow start, but now a favorite book. I had a hard time wanting to keep reading this book. I disliked the first few chapters, but am glad I kept reading, it is now a favorite book of mine. A must read for anyone who enjoys paranormanl romance novels

Descension. Great book

descension and the Mystic series. I have read many books from many different genres. Decension is a well written romance where fantastical events take place. The book does hook you and takes you down a road to find out what happens next. The only criticism I can offer is there is too many scenes some of which could have been edited out. However, the gold lining for me is sometimes you like the characters so much you want to read more about them and that happens in all the books of this series, some books more than others. I can’t wait for the final 2 books of this series to be published so I can find out what happens next.

Goodness. This book made me cry! It was heart-wrenching and so full of love! The sacrifice the characters had to make...!!! Geez, it was amazing, although I do wish there was more about Layla at end, other than that... Amazing

Amazing. The story is well written and keeps you turning the pages well into the night :) Update now that Quins short story's are out I have reread the entire series and it is still amazing! I never got bored of The characters the chapters of her parents make me tear up every time and I'm always holding my breath when danger is near! A must read!

Boring!!. I can't believe the positive reviews on this book. It was so boring & slow paced I had to make myself finish it. The author puts in so many details the story drags. Why do we need to know the exact setting even minuscule details, of every place they visit? Boring. Not worth the time!!!

Nothing happening here.. I couldn’t finish it. It started okay; the writing is clunky and not particularly polished but not the worst. However the romantic interactions are so overly sweet and sappy it makes your teeth hurt. The many times fingers curl in hair is excessive. About midway through the story becomes just a basic description of absolutely nothing. At one point I skipped 20 pages and still understood what was happening because the little that did was so predicable. That was when I decided I didn’t care what happened in the end. Ugh.

Harry potter style romance. I liked the prologue and it created interest right away. Initially the story was slow paced but rich in details that created good character development. When Quin enters the story the relationship with Layla is love at first site and seems forced. Story has a Harry Potter feel to it. When the story relives her parents lives the mistake of throwing the characters together too quickly by love at first sight is repeated.

The Best!!. I just finished the first book and can't wait to buy the others. I couldn't put it down. You must read!!!!!!!

Captivating. This book always left me wanting more after each chapter. I couldn't put it down. It was a great read.

Meh. I liked this book a lot except for the fact that a lot of the book has the memories of the parents. They added to many memories and I skipped half the book because of that. I easily guessed what was gonna happen so there was no need for so much detail

Good read. I enjoyed the book Descension. Some areas of the book were written as if towards a much younger reader. I was disappointed that it was a series and now must never know the ending.

I can’t stop rereading!!!. I’ve read this book 5 times and I never get tired of it. An absolute rollercoaster of emotions. I’ve gone from giggling, to anger, to pure love for the characters, and immense heartbreak. The book is about Layla, a young adult that discovers she was adopted by a non-magical woman after her witch parents had to give her away in order to protect her from extreme danger. The story is filled with love in it’s purest forms passions, parental, siblings, and friendly. I’ve been completely obsessed with the series since discovering it through a random recommendation from the reading app. If you happen to come across this book, it was destiny. You MUST give it a chance!

Wow!!!. This book has everything you need for an emotional escape! Love, mystery, intrigue, passion, and emotion!! I read half the book during an all-niter. I love the world she created with characters you care for and want to know more about! I would recommend this series to any one of my friends!!

Descension. At first I thought I had mistakenly purchased a children's literature book due to the immaturity of the characters; however, the sex scenes are explicit. Which left me with confusion and boredom with the writing.

Needs work. This has the makings of a fun story. I really wanted to like it and get lost in it but the writing is a bit redundant and thus a bit boring. Perhaps a less linear writing style. While I understand his character, more Quin perspective would be nice as he seems either a bit too perfect or flat.

Mixed feelings. I'll be as honest as possible. This was not one of my favorite books, but it did make me feel things. I cried at the sad parts and if a book can make you feel for a character, then the author is doing something right. With that said I cannot say her character development is great. I know that this is a fantasy story, but I have a hard time accepting that two people can fall that deeply in love within only days---you can't know a person's soul in so little time---I don't care if they're magical, people don't just do that. Another thing that bothered me was how young these people were and yet they were described as experienced capable adults and their parents agree with the children's decisions completely and gave their full support---that is true fantasy, because in real life parents would not normally view a 19 year old son capable of doing the things that Aedan did here, but since they're magically endowed, they can be perfectly mature and functioning members of society without any real character flaw. I'm just dissatisfied with the characters in the magical community, because they're too "perfect" to be relatable---Layla was nice because she was vulnerable and uncertain of herself like most young women would be in her position before finding out about her magical heritage. After reading the first book, I don't know if I'll read the other books in the series. The only part of the story that I found worthwhile was the part where Layla was encouraged to leave her old life as a diner waitress and pursue something more. I liked how she chose to be courageous by traveling across country to find out about her family---but then the story focused on Quinn romancing her. Romancing isn't bad, but I would have wanted to enjoy watching Layla grow into her own person. Love stories are wonderful, but they don't make you feel anything if the people in the relationship don't seem genuine. They're just fairytales.

Needs Editing. YA novel in desperate need of editing for grammar ('slunk' vs 'slinked'). And while using colloquial speech patterns is useful in small doses, the overuse of "ya" instead of "you" irritated and distracted from the story.

Such an addictive series!. I couldnt put this book down! Now I have read all 8. The first one hooks you! The first one is intriguing on all levels. The second one almost lost me BUT it ends leaving you ready for book 3! Be careful though, I fell so deep into these characters that I was even having dreams about my books! I’m patiently waiting for book 9, which I believe is the ending to series. I’m sad for it to end but can’t wait to finish this out with Layla and Quin!

Excellent fun!. Get ready for a long, but fullfilling journey!

Can't wait to read the next one and hope this could be made into a movie. Great book!!!!

Descension. Great story kept me interested all the way through, and felt bereft when I finished it. Loved the way magic was involved, and the characters were great.

Loved it :). Absolutely loved the characters in this book and found it very easy to fall in love with Layla and the beginning of her story. As an avid reader I found the storyline refreshing and found myself quite emotionally attached to the characters due to the authors excellent writing. I can not wait to read the rest :)

6 series so far..... What an amazing series so far, the visionary, and such detail to the storyline is riveting. Gorgeous characters that you fall in love with.....and then when the erotic scenes start...look out !i have read the first 6 books, and surely there has to #7 soon.....look forward to it, hope it's not too far or I will forget the passion of the storyline.

Needs more on the correct day. It was an awesome book with so much feelings but most of the book was about the past and for me I really wanted to know more about what's going on in her life at that moment in time but the story end just when it is about her which really got to me. But other then that the story was really well done and I loved it even throw it was really short.😉

Beautiful Epic Love Story (Check it out if you enjoy Twilight/Harry Potter genre). Really enjoyed the beginning of this epic story. Fantasy at it's best - good descriptions make you feel as if you are really there. The author has done some beautiful writing and makes you fall in love with the characters.
