Best book I have read in years!. What a fabulous story written beautifully! Incredible characters, high drama, and love weaves into every page. Truly a treasure that’s did not want to end.
Riveting. The book drew me in and wouldn’t let me go.
Disappointing. Glass Castles was my favorite book so I couldn’t wait to read Hang the Moon. Found it very dull and confusing. Stopped reading halfway through.

Buy the book with a box of tissues!. Bring the tissues for this one. In true Jeannette Walls fashion, you’ll be crying your eyes out in no time with “Hang the Moon.” Set in the hills of Appalachia, Walls transports us to the early 1900s when women have few rights, men hold the power & Prohibition is at its peak. From crime & lawlessness to birth & death, this novel of historical fiction will leave you reeling with a myriad of emotions. My heart broke in so many places reading about the trials & tribulations of the cursed Kincaid family. Each time I thought that a light at the end of the tunnel was coming, another disaster struck. Much like it remains today in rural parts of Appalachia. While my West Virginia roots may have held a little bias in how much I enjoyed this book & connected to its characters, I believe anyone who reads this will feel the same. Congratulations to author Jeannette Walls on once again bringing to life another important piece of history.
140 pages of tedium, then I gave up. I couldn’t go any further, though I tried. A waste of time and money, trudging through words that amounted to nothing happening. Hopeless
Great story. Great read about an era and location I was not familiar with. Hope to read more.
