The Bakery on the Cove. Well I can tell you I did not the way it ended. That said I loved the story, romantic, great characters, great plot and clean.

Don’t bother. The book ends with the story unfinished. It easily could have been shortened to tell a whole story

Cliffhanger. Not fair. Very disappointing.

A little bit weird. The book only had one review for 1 star, so I read it out of curiosity to see if it’s really worth 1 star - it’s worth 2. Firstly, the lead character makes strange and naive decisions for a 47 year old woman, as if she’s led a sheltered life, where in fact she has been a single mother of 4 kids for 21 years living in NYC, and she should be tough and no-nonsense. She is opening a bakery, which is her “dream” since she was a teenager, but not once in the story does she bake anything or talk about her love of baked goods or cooking. It’s a huge disconnect. In fact she mentions not wanting to eat “unhealthy” foods and even her kids say she shouldn’t eat pizza. She gets angry that the boyfriend likes pizza. The writing is somewhat strange and awkward, slightly formal language, as if English is not the author’s native language, or as if the book was translated from another language into English. When the characters speak to each other they don’t “say”, they “snort”, “whisper”, and “grunt” frequently. It’s a difficult read in that sense. The author also uses the word “weird” 28 times over 20 chapters. Everything is weird. Overall the story was vaguely engaging and if you get past the language used. The main characters being old was also less of an appeal - they act and speak as though the author has never met some one of that age. The book also cut off at an odd point in the plot. I don’t care enough about the characters to read the next book in the series.
