Questo libro è formato da 4 Scritti di Benito "La mia vita" è l’autobiografia (dal 1883 al 1911), composta all'età di ventotto anni, pubblicata a puntate sul «Popolo d’Italia» tra il 1915 e il febbraio 1917. Il 2° Scritto, "Il Mio Diario di Guerra", anch'esso apparso su «Il Popolo d’Italia» è una cronaca delle ostilità sul fronte di guerra densa e partecipata, che accompagnò i lettori con quindici puntate stampate in quattordici mesi. Il 23 febbraio 1917 Mussolini rimase seriamente ferito durante un’esercitazione, incidente che pose fine alla sua esperienza bellica così come alla sua narrazione dal fronte. Successivamente queste memorie furono pubblicate nel febbraio 1923 da Imperia, la casa editrice di riferimento del Partito Nazionale Fascista, col titolo "Il mio diario di guerra (1915-1917)". Il 3° Scritto è "La Dottrina del Fascismo", un saggio del 1932 pubblicato nella voce "Fascismo" dell'Enciclopedia Italiana in cui vengono tracciati i principi politici fondamentali del Fascismo. Sebbene ufficialmente risulti firmato da Benito Mussolini, esso fu redatto insieme al filosofo Giovanni Gentile, che ne compilò la prima parte definita “Idee Fondamentali”, la seconda, “Dottrina Politica e Sociale”, fu scritta interamente dal DUCE. Viene qui riportato insieme alle note al testo ufficiali. Il 4° Scritto è il Testamento Politico di Mussolini, un documento di grande importanza, un estremo appello alla posterità che Benito Mussolini dettò il giorno 20 e corresse il giorno 22 aprile 1945 nella saletta della Prefettura di Milano.
