Not good because….. Part of the storyline was okay, however I’m not sure if the ‘author’ actually (PW)or an understudy wrote this book, but the two main characters, (my opinion) turn from dysfunctionally dramatic, to MORE dramatic, turning intro porn-dramatic! I’ve read books from this author and I’ve liked them but this one was🤦🏻‍♀️…not sure, but can’t rate this more than 2.5 stars.

I Could Never. OMG, Penelope did it again. What an amazing story. I don’t like to give away spoilers but this is a must read. So, so special - make sure to have a box of tissues close by. You will definitely need them. Thank you for sharing this amazing, heartfelt story with us!❤️💙🍨

OMG. Well let me start off by saying WOW… this was such an amazing book. I really loved Josh and Carly. It was such a different kind of love story. You can sense their regret over Brad… With Josh not wanting to hurt Brad even though Brad was no longer here. It made both their characters more real and the fact that Brad was still with the both of them thru Scottie. Thank you again for writing such an amazing real love story ❤️❤️❤️

Oh, wow!. Tear jerking story but I loved it! This is a must read how two people come together for the right reasons, caring for another human being. The challenges and struggles they both faced and overcame were remarkable. Ward did a phenomenal job writing this story.❤️

Outstanding. I do not know how Penelope Ward continues to come up with these stories. Once again Ms. Ward has delivered a fabulous read that is one of my top reads of 2023. I Could Never ticked all the boxes for me as I quickly became invested in Carly Garber and Josh Mathers’ story. From the first paragraph I was hooked. This was a well written, steamy, witty story with plenty of emotion and heart and soul. The characters who were engaging and easy to fall in love with. Carly is shocked to learn was that her dead fiancé, Brad’s father has also died, and she has been charged with looking after and making arrangements for Scottie, Brad’s special needs brother. Even more disturbing is that Brad’s best friend Josh has also been asked. There is no love lost between Carly and Josh and the sparks quickly fly. Since Scottie is the one, they both care about an uneasy truce is formed. As they get to know one another more hate turns to attraction. Can the guilt they both feel as their feelings change from hate to love be overcome? One click and find out.

Wonderful, captivating journey. I always know I’m going to get a wonderful read every time I pick up a book by the very talented Penelope Ward but she has really outdone herself this time with Carly Garber and Josh Mather’s journey in I Could Never.This emotional and captivating story touched me on so many levels and it’s certainly up there amongst my best reads of 2023. Carly wasn’t prepared to look after her dead fiancé Brad’s special needs brother Scottie but when she learns that his father has passed away she heads across the States to do what ever is needed. What she didn’t expect was to find that Brad’s best friend Josh has also arrived to take care of Scottie and to say there is no love lost between her and Josh would be an understatement…….. From the moment these two are back in the same room sparks fly and not always in a good way but the one thing they have in common is making sure Scottie is well cared for. This means spending time together and it’s not long before hate turns into lust and eventually love. This book has all the feels, it’s raw and emotional, it’s heartbreaking and heartwarming, it has wonderful characters, it’s beautifully written and it’s full of love. A wonderful read that I highly recommend.

A masterpiece!. I Could Never is a story that will hook you and has all the feels. Its a book with characters that embedded themselves into my soul. I honestly needed a few days to come to terms with how this wonderful heartfelt book made me feel. All the things, everything and then some. There were moments I shed some tears and some where I laughed. Carly and Josh along with Scottie are characters that have made this one of my absolute favourite reads of the year! Carly lost her best friend, her fiance when he passed, but is willing to help take care of his autistic brother Scottie. Needless to say when Josh turns up also to help take care of Scottie, the frustration and way the storyline goes is nothing short of heartwarming too. I found this story to be a realistic masterpiece and I am honestly lost for words and highly recommend you pick it up and devour it just as I did.
