Luckiest Girl Alive by Jessica Knoll Book Summary

Fans of Gone Girl and The Girl on the Train will thrill at this “perfect page-turner” (People)—that Reese Witherspoon describes as “one of those reads you just can’t put down!” This instant New York Times and USA TODAY bestselling novel follows an unforgettable young woman striving to create the perfect life—until a violent incident from her past threatens to unravel everything and expose her most shocking secret.

As a teenager at the prestigious Bradley School, Ani FaNelli endured a shocking, public humiliation that left her desperate to reinvent herself. Now, with a glamorous job, expensive wardrobe, and handsome blue blood fiancé, she’s this close to living the perfect life she’s worked so hard to achieve.

But Ani has a secret.

There’s something else buried in her past that still haunts her, something private and painful that threatens to bubble to the surface and destroy everything.

With a singular voice and twists you won’t see coming, Luckiest Girl Alive explores the unbearable pressure that so many women feel to “have it all” and introduces a heroine whose sharp edges and cutthroat ambition have been protecting a scandalous truth, and a heart that's bigger than it first appears.

The question remains: will breaking her silence destroy all that she has worked for—or, will it at long last, set Ani free?

Worst book everSlow to start. Picked it up and started it on three separate occasions only to stop reading it. Finally told myself to stick with it. What a waste of time. Don't waste yours..Score: 1/5

ConfusefThis book wasn’t at all what I thought it would be about based on the synopsis and first few pages. As a thriller, it was a bit of a let down, and the plot was played out by the middle of the novel. It was kind of a one-trick pony read. A well-crafted, shocking story. Definitely worth buying!Jessica Knoll has written a well-crafted, shocking story. The main plot is certainly creative and intense, and the author captured my attention with both her character development and the feeling of authenticity her writing conveys. All in all, a very good read, and one which may appeal to a wide audience. Definitely worth buying, in my opinion. A mild criticism: Although some of the conclusive sections might be seen as a little predicable, well, isn't life a bit like that, too? In that sense such aspects of the story seem to make it even more realistic and plausible, rather than less. Yes, I might have appreciated a final twist, but then again that would have likely been just too contrived. In retrospect, (and now that I have thought about it a bit more) the way in which this book's plot progresses and peaks is just right. A minor caution: However, please be aware that some of the themes and descriptions may upset more sensitive readers, but then again, such a strong plot line probably demanded this type of approach. The other minor caution: you will want to keep reading and reading until you finish! Seriously, this is a real page-turner! I barely slept last night...and when I did, it wasn't well.
