We need more second chances in life . . .. Overall, I enjoyed this book and would recommend it. Not the best I’ve read, but nowhere near the worst. PROS: Interesting storyline. Assisted suicide seldom explored in this type of novel. And who doesn’t yearn for a second chance? Quick and easy read (important if your world is busy) but not too short. CONS: I expected age-appropriate immaturity (they are college age), but the flip-flopping of both main characters seemed extreme. Feelings are not like light switches. One “explanation” in a stairwell and Payton (who was hurt and angry enough to leave without a word) appears to say “Ok. Let’s be a couple again.” The explanation itself left much to be desired. Where was the REAL discussion of what happened? Where was the tentative rebuilding of trust? I am all for lust, but it does not create forgiveness nor mend relationships. Happened again with the letters. She read one. All of a sudden she wanted to go to the prison and it MENTIONS she read the rest. It is the emotional angst that gets readers invested. I felt the same way about Blake. While I liked both characters, I am not sure why. Other than I am happy they got their HEA. On more reflection (and more importantly), I am not sure why they like EACH OTHER beyond a shared history. The depth of their previous relationship was just not developed enough to convince me they were in love even before the Mexico trip. Final con: Payton’s struggle with her father felt like an afterthought. As if it were only the vehicle to explain why Payton ran away the first time. Too important a topic to reduce to an afterthought. Although my con list would bely this . . . I did genuinely enjoy the book. Read it in one day. :)

Conquering fears - Loved it. I liked how Payton stayed true to her ethics and morals. She made a lot of mistakes, but she overcame them. She conquered her fears of peoole knowing who she really was. Tough decisions were made, but she was compensated for them. Pushing one's limits isn't always bad. Loved that besides the situation of her father and med school, a love relationship was incorporated into the novel. I would love to read more.

Review: Unethical. Unethical by Jennifer Blackwood is a story of love, betrayal, tragedy, and self-discovery. Payton has found her way back to California despite her best efforts and is using her mothers maiden name as her last name. Two years ago her family was at the center of a scandal that rocked the medical community and caused her to flee to the anonymity of Florida for her first two years of college. She's back, and she's wishing she wasn't. Once again, the reality of her life is ready to slap her in the face. As long as she can remain unconnected to her father she should be in the clear. Enter stage right: Blake Hiller. Blake is the ex-boyfriend that Payton left in her dust when things went down. He returned from his graduation trip to Mexico to find her gone. No number, no address, no explanation. He has spent the past two years trying to get over Payton only to find her again and have her pretend to not even know him. What happens when the past you buried won't stay down, when the tragedy haunts you and the past starts to meld with the present? A beautiful story of romance tied in with a really interesting story line. I would like to read more from this author.

Magnificent. It's a captivating story in which I fell in love with the characters. Beautiful.

Love love love this book!. I always go down the list of free romance books and download a couple, and I'm so glad I found this one! I love that it's not your typical love story. They both have their ups and downs. It's a must read!

Unethical. I did enjoy the book. I just would have liked more detail on why the medical ethics professor carried such a vendetta.

Loved this book!. Unethical by Jennifer Blackwood is wonderful story of love and forgiveness. It struggles with the issue of assisted suicide and the implications that such a suicide can have on everyone involved. It also deals with many of the issues facing young people in college, such as balancing social life and school, the temptation of drugs, and relationships. Ms. Blackwood does a great job of showing how her characters deal with each issue and what they learn from their experiences.

Fun to read.. She keeps you engaged and interested.

Excellent read. I loved this book because love prevailed in the end. The story line involving Payton's father and mother was an added bonus to the romance going on! Can't wait to read more books by the author and find out what happens in Jule's love life!

Super melodramatic. I rolled my eyes throughout the entire book. The drama was so forced and ridiculous at some points. I can see this being enjoyed by an overly emotional teenager, but not by anyone whose ever lived in the real world.
