omb. I loved it i literally spent the whole day tryna finish💗

Intense and Emotional. A story of two broken souls who find each other and unexpectedly heal each other. This book had me in tears. I highly recommend this dark romance. I looking forward to the next book in this series.

Hated it. Terrible can't get over the fact that both should be in jail for crimes they've committed!! More so Grayson since he killed a cop! Commit the crime do the time!! And this innocent cry fest girl aiding and abetting a 1st degree murder prisoner! Really unjust and terrible! Didn't even end really with a "HEA" since there was no justice, they both are wanted criminals, and there was no real plot. The book was way drawn out!

I liked it. So I’m not gonna lie the part about when they first had sex was a little too much for me to take in. Cuz I couldn’t fight that initial feeling of it being unwanted. But I did enjoy the book at times. N the book is a lill dark but that’s true to life. We all have dark hidden secrets about ourselves. Who are we to judge another person, I can’t. I did enjoy the blunt writing and it made easy to imagine what’s going on. Unlike some other books like “If I were u” got too far into details it made it hard to fill in the blanks. Like the author had Abby say in the book. Like reading but seeing the movie play out in my head. Really neat.

Prisoner. Wow I could not put this one down, so raw and heart wrenching! Talk about a good dark read though, with characters you can’t help but cheer for.

Disappointed. Rape is not romantic. Just stop.

Deviantly delightful!. This story was beautifully tragic, and twisted up with the lives of lost souls seeking vengeance. These characters make you feel many different emotions simultaneously. They’re rash, and loyal, and broken. Abby’s trying to claw her way out of her past to build herself into something new, despite shame and lack of confidence. Grayson is fueled by rage over a lifetime stolen, and a thirst to make those that took it, pay for what they did. These two couldn’t be more different, yet still slightly alike. I was completely blown away by this book. I didn’t know what to expect. I loved them, I hated them, and now that I’ve reached the end, I miss them. This story was deep, and emotional, steamy, and truly fantastic. I look forward to reading book two!

Long ride. Started slow but picked up speed quickly. This book took me on a ride full of angst Worth the read

Prisoner. This is one of the darkest books I’ve ever read and a roller coaster of emotions. This book was definitely written from deep within the core. I can’t completely wrap my head around the two main characters because it seems as if there is a missing link between what’s going on in their heads vs what actually comes out of their mouths. Both have a dark and horrible past, one worse than the other. I understand how abuse can cause serious psychological issues especially if it occurs as a child. I can’t help but think maybe there is some Stockholm syndrome going on in this story (it is mentioned at one point). I can get into two lost souls finding each and being the missing piece that each one needs in order to find happiness within themselves. However I can’t really get into a man keeping a woman captive because he wants her like she’s a puppy he found on the street and he now owns her nor can I be ok with a situation that’s practically date rape. I guess that’s the darkness of the characters the authors want you to feel. I am giving this book 5 stars because of how extremely well and intense that it’s written. But if any of the situations mentioned above are something the reader can’t handle due to similar circumstances in their own life or that of a loved one, I would not recommend reading this book.

Dark but good. Dark, twisted romance. Sexy in a disturbing kind of way. Good book and I enjoyed it, but definitely not a traditional hearts and roses romance.

Wow!. This is my first book by these authors. I was not sure what to expect by the blurb. But I am so glad I took a chance and read it because I loved it! Grayson and Abby....ahhhh! In the beginning I was not sure how to feel about Grayson, but as you learn his backstory you understand why he is the way he is. There were a few times I wanted to smack Abby for not trusting Grayson, but she has her own backstory and you understand her trust issues. I did not want this book to end! I cannot wait to read the next book! I hope others characters get a book also! Bottom line I definitely recommend reading this series!

Standing Ovation!. I truly wish I could be as eloquent in my review as the authors were in their heart wrenching story. I was enthralled right from the start. Abby seemed so weak in the beginning but showed incredible spunk and had hidden talents. Both Grayson’s and Abby’s backstory was given in such tiny amounts and with hardly enough detail that your imagination fills in the nightmares by itself. Each had suffered unimaginable horrors and yet, managed somehow to survive. There is such EVIL and cruelty in this world and it constantly amazes and humbles me when you witness the power of hope and the awesome resiliency of the soul. A truly beautiful story! This is the BEST Skye Warren book I’ve ever read. Sorry but I can’t comment on Annika Martin as I’ve never read her work before.

Prisoner. What a great story! I couldn’t put it down. It isn’t the kind of book I thought I’d enjoy - but was I ever wrong. The characters are strong, angry, flawed, but so vulnerable. It’s like a cross between a love story, a mystery and a phycological thriller all rolled into one book. Perfect way to spend a day nursing a cold!

Did I say, “couldn’t put it down”?. This book rolled in front of my eyes like a movie. From the start to the end. Scene after scene. It just rolled. Kept it wide eyes. Involved. It’s a must read if you want to read about a passionate romance of a criminal and a brave girl.

A good read. I really loved this book as well as the sequel “Hostage”, my only complaint is there are some obvious inconsistencies between the 2 books.
