More is needed to the ending. This was a well-written book it revolved around childhood hurts and love lost through tragedy. The brief and I do mean very brief ending was too short and did build on the issues so well-threaded throughout the previous pages.

Fantastic. I love reading stories about children. This is a great story and it is very emotional for victims of abuse and burn victims. Loved the romance and the ending.

Excellent.. I don’t give books 5 stars. Hardly ever. But I loved this book so much that I had to. It wasn’t a “perfect” book but the characters were so captivating and realistic that you couldn’t help but fall in love with them. Especially little Jack. He always seemed to have the right thing to say at the right time. I started the book HATING Patrick. But in the end, he was one of the most compassionate, lovable male protagonist I’ve ever come across. The love and connection between the characters was tangible. I also have a deep appreciation for the fact that the characters did not have the cliche “on again, off again” relationship. Rather there was a slow build up to their love (I say this despite the fact that I read the book in less than 24 hrs, that says a lot). The storyline was realistic and shed light on a very important medical issue. I learned a lot while reading this book. I have only two minor complaints. The consistent use of the word “masculine” on behalf of the female protagonist in the beginning drove me a little crazy. It felt excessive. My only other complaint is hardly a complaint.. I just wish there was an epilogue or several! I wanted to hear more about the rest of Kate, Patrick, and Jack’s story. All in all excellent book. I highly recommend it.

The Passion of Patrick MacNeill. I very much liked the story line, characters and could relate. My problem why not 5 stars, is how quick it ended. Yeah, story book ending, just to quick, it would have been nice to have had just a little continuing to how the head of surgery left, if he did and if she was able to handle his job as well in a new marriage with Patrick and Jack. I take it they did get married. I'm going to download the next book about Conn and maybe find out if they mention what happened in that book.

Below average.. I didn't believe in their love, it seemed rushed. I won't read more in the series.

Read it with passion in doubt. The story focus on man's perspective in father's unconditional love for his son. I got bored because one it's too long. Next, no twist or nothing excites or plot.
