Excellent Series. I love this series…like LOVE love it! Like read it multiple times, love it. That being said, this book was not my favorite. It’s good, don’t get me wrong, and definitely worth reading. I just felt that by the end of book eight we’re finally figuring out what’s what and who’s who and then someone hits the factory reset button and we’re back ot square one for a while. It was frustrating, and Ms. Jones has left me in the agonizing state of STILL dying to know what will happen next. However, I still couldn’t put it down and enjoyed the heck out of it. Pretty please hurry up with the next one!

Ninth book in series!. The Dirt on Ninth Grave by Darynda Jones is the ninth book in the Charley Davidson series. It Sleepy Hollow, New York the Firelight Grill has a new employee named Janey Doerr (aka Charlotte “Charley” Davidson). Jane Doe was too boring and normal so she changed it up a little. Charley has amnesia and does not remember who she is. She woke up behind the diner four weeks ago with memory. Charley has special abilities (she can see the dead, see aura, and can tell if someone is lying are a few of them), but she does not understand how they work. She is also afraid to tell anyone (for fear of what they will think). Charley is lucky to have made a good friend in fellow worker Cookie (and her husband, Bob). The diner gets a new cook. One of the regulars, Reyes Alexander Farrow has just been hired, and Charley is very attracted to him. Charley is not sure she should act on the attraction (he also infuriates her). Then Charley notices something strange going on at Mr. Vandenberg’s antique store. Charley discovers that some Middle Eastern men are holding Mr. Vandenberg and his family hostage so they can use his storeroom (to drill a tunnel into a dry cleaners). Charley sets out to help him. Will Charley be able to help the Vandenberg’s? Will she ever get her memory back (and why did she lose it) and what happens when she does? I have not read any of the books in this series before, and I discovered that is a detriment. You really do need to read the other books in the Charley Davidson series in order to understand everything going on in The Dirt on Ninth Grave (or just to understand the book). I thought the book was okay. There is a lot of foul language and sex (talk and act) with very little mystery. The first twenty percent of the book is basically Charley admiring Reyes (how handsome, sexy, hot, etc.) and the other guys that are regulars at the diner. There is no action (the book does not move forward at all). The book picks up pace in the last forty percent (if you make it that far). I give Dirt on Ninth Grave 3 out of 5 stars. The idea is good, but I was just not a fan (I think I will have to go back and read the other books in the series—at least the first book). The Dirt on Ninth Grave reads more like an erotic novel than a paranormal mystery book. I received a complimentary copy of Dirt on Ninth Grave from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Another winner. I received this ARC for an honest review. I have to say that I enjoyed this book. This is not a stand alone book. You must have read book 8. This book showed you that Charley is Charley (memory or no memory). She is here to help people while getting into trouble herself. This story also show the meaning of true love (that includes family and friend), and people will do for each other. Give this book a chance. I think you will enjoy it.

Love digging in Dirt!. WOW! Just WOW! Bravo, Ms Jones for pulling us, your readers, deeper into "the grave" so to speak.....the danger infused life of Charley Davidson, aka Janey in Book 9 of the series.....I was uncertain, I was saddened, I was hopeful, and as I continued to turn page after page you allowed the reader to get "the dirt" under their nails....and be giddy about it.....fist pump happy about it! And then there is Reyes Alexander Farrow! Lawd Gosh Almighty! I need Book 10 NOW!

Amaze..... As always, this woman amazes me with the stories she creates! Could not put this book down, as I have already grown close to all the characters from the previous books (which I am positive I am not the only one)!!! Darynda Jones is absolutely one of the best story tellers of all times. As I am not one to tell you about the characters or the story, because I would rather you read it on your own...this book made me love the characters more (guess it's possible), it made me laugh, it made me frustrated, it made me cry... All in a (pretending to) love roller coasters sort of way!!!! (I really do hate roller coasters, but love this series) I highly recommend this book series to anyone (over the age of 18, because oh those spicy scenes)... Read it, love it, review it, and tell all your friends because these books are otherworldly!!!!!!!

Entertaining and funny. Wonderful writing

Darynda does it again!. The characters again come to life in the ninth installment of the Charley Davison series. Darynda creates an environment that is both brand new and familiar to fans of the series. It was refreshing and fun to see Charley discover who she is--the count down to book 10 starts now!

Addictive Series. I absolutely love this series. Darynda Jones is an amazing author. I was hooked the moment I read the sample of the first book. When I read the excerpt I wasn't sure I would like all the paranormal activity. It sounded like it could be a bit grim, but it's not at all like that. It's more of a romantic comedy series. Can totally see this as a movie or better yet a Netflix series. Charlie and Reyes are a HOT couple. I love Charlie's quirkiness and her sense of humor. The whole crew (dead and alive) that surrounds Charlie are just so much fun and so loyal to Charlie even through her amnesia. I have read the entire series and every time I finish the latest book I feel so bummed, I wish it were longer. It's so good that you crave more and it's hard to start to another book because you know it won't compare to this series.

Love it!. Here's the problem with the books in this series... They are so fun to read that I finish them in one day! I find myself laughing out loud at parts throughout the books. I used to feel this way about the Janet Evanovich "Stephanie Plum" books but about book 15 or 16 they started getting stale for me and now I don't even think it's her that writes them anymore. I'm so glad that I have found the Charley Davidson books! Now just make them a bit longer and they would be perfect!

Felt like I waited forever.. Could not wait for this new book to come out. If you have not read the series start at the first book. They are as addictive as candy. Or read this book as a stand alone but it will make you want to start at the beginning. Can't wait for more!
