Good, but not Book 1 good. I think this one was just good. I needed much more character development. NSFW scenes were often overplayed and repetitive. The first book with Alex puts this one to shame. Nevertheless, it was still good & I love the reuse of the characters from the other books.

Alex > Jared. This book didn’t have very much character development which made it hard to be that into the characters. Also more sex than story doesn’t really make for a good novel and the sex scenes were very cliche.

Amazing!. This book was just what I wanted. Good storyline without getting stupid or too crazy and steamy hot sex scenes!

Recommended. Jared meets Sienna when he agrees to take Alex’s (Thrust) clients for the night. She had seen Alex one time previously and she was shy and not the type Jared usually saw. He likes it rough and thinks she is to vanilla for him. But that changes pretty quickly once they meet. Since getting injured and discharged from the Marines Jared wants control in all things and that is why he became an escort. Sienna works for a professional football team and she is having problems with one of the players. This one has a little bit of action and André and his team assists. Neil also has a cameo. I enjoyed their story and I love interconnected characters.

Thrust, Rough and Grind Review - By K.. I was a little skeptical about reading Thrust, but as soon I started the first chapter, I immediately knew it was going to be one of the hottest, sexiest and imaginative books I will ever read. Along with Rough and Grind, Sybil Bartel’s books have made their way into my Top 20 favourite books. I honestly cannot stop thinking about what Alex, Jared and Dane look like in my head and it is making me blush. I wished the stories were longer and that there was a prologue because, I honestly can’t get enough of the ex Marines! It is one thing to know that ex Marines suffer from all sorts of trauma after being in the field, but the way Bartel gives you a strong and visual insight and perception as to how the men feel, think and what they go through and have experienced, is quite mind blowing. I think that it is a skill that not many authors have, but Bartel managed to pull it off tremendously. I love the female characters, and how they can stand their own ground, are strong, resilient characters and have been through hurtful things, but still managed to persevere. And they also rocked the worlds of their soulmates! I absolutely love your books Sybil Bartel! Xxx Lots of Love, K.

Rough. Holy crap!! If you have not read this series starting with Thrust then you are missing out. Thrust was a great start but this...this drop kicked us right into the blackness that is Jared. Holy hotness he he intense. Sienna comes into his path as a feisty bright light and I love how this entire story was written. Dark, sexy, thought provoking with PTSD, and yes even some parts had me laughing. It is a gift to be able to write this erotica genre and still make it an amazing story. Nailed it!! OMG you have not met a man like Jared and if maybe you have its still worth the plunge.
