Didn't see that coming!!. What a great job Brian did!! No wonder you and David Joy got along so well! There were so many twists, I think I yelled at the book a few times!! Happy I read it and I want to read it again!!

Bull Mountain. The book has a decent plot and well developed characters. The southern accent, however, was not authentic. It was like watching a movie with a character trying to talk southern...you just can't hide those Yankee misconceptions about the south. Oh, and by the way, when you close the action on a sawed-off shotgun it not closing the "rifle" - even a 8 year old boy from north Georgia knows that. Maybe next time write about a book about New York or Boston slave traders or mafia types...some of your own ancestors.

Unbeleiveable. What an incredible book. Just stunning storytelling. I know you always read reviews where people are like I could not put it down and I am never one of those people mainly be issue I just get to tired to read that long but not with Bull Mountain. What an achievement. All I can think about now is please don't screw this story up Hollywood This could be one of the all time great flicks!!

In the vein of Larry Brown. Excellent book steeped in the ways of the "Dirty South" where hard people live hard lives and meet hard endings. The characters in this book are vivid and real. The book moved quickly weaving seamlessly across different times and narratives leading to a well crafted and surprising ending. A fantastic first which left me waiting eagerly on the next one. Pour a bourbon, put on some Drive By Truckers, stay up late and enjoy!

Poorly written trash. I bought this book on the basis of a positive review in the Wall Street Journal, a publication whose reviews I have found reliable. Not this time. "Bull Mountain" is a very poorly written book. The characters are one dimensional, shallowly drawn, cardboard, comic book evil, with no redeeming qualities or complexity whatsoever. The dialogue is thin, contrived, and wholly unbelievable. The author's use of time skipping as a literary device is just confusing in the hands of this amateur. It is painful reading. You keep hoping it will get better but know it won't. I quit a third of the way through and deleted it. It's trash; a waste of time. The people who give this five star reviews must also think that the Walking Dead is quality drama.

Bull Mountain. One of the best books I've read in 2015. I really didn't understand all of the plots and characters roles in the first half of the novel, however once you really really get into the novel EVERYTHING falls into place and begins to make sense. I loved this book by the end.

Mr.. Very intriguing book. I could feel the egos and macho of the Deep South. No steamy romance novel here. First book I've read twice back to back.

Just amazing. Kurt Sutter needs to call up Opie from Sons of Anarchy and get this adapted to TV now. Please? All joking aside. That's all I could think reading this. It's like sons of anarchy if you watch that show. The characters just really sucked me in. Kudos to the author.
