Different but brilliant. Where to begin, this book isn’t at all what I usually read but it had me gripped and I couldn’t put it down. This is a long book and I got through it in a few day. It reminds me of the film 28 days later but so much better. Evie goes through so much and is lucky to find a select few that she can live and work with. Definitely recommend this book

A must read. Normally, I shy away from paranormal/sci-if, futuristic, ect reads. So this was my first read in one those genres and I loved it, it will encourage me to try new reads all the time. This one see's Eve the last woman on earth after an out break of a virus by Muslim extremist trying to make the perfect race. There is something about Eve that helps her survive her children and every child, along with every other women and a few men. The world has been infected with giant mutated bugs called aphids. So when Eve and her husband seeks refuge in her fathers land, tragedy strikes not only having to come through what happened, but also the death of her husband. Eve is lost for a while unsure what to do, where to go, when she finds things meant for her in eventuality of her husband not surviving, this gives her life purpose again. This see's Eve encounter her first guardian in a Lakota warrior Jesse. Eve spends a year healing with the help of the Lakota people who have survived. Eve and Jesse have a standoffish relationship, but they're connected notheless and Eve fights the connection, until Eve decide it's time to go. This is where she hides on a cargo ship bound for England. In England Eve meets a priest by the name of Roark, her second guardian. They fight side by side against the aphids. Roark shows Eve how to love again and shows her faith. They decide to travel to Iceland looking for Shard to help with virus outbreak. Before they could make it they're intercepted by the Drone and his aphid army. The Drone is the one who mastermind the virus and takes captured Eve and Rourke to Malta. This is where he has his Doctor run tests on Eve to see why She has survived, but Michio the doctor is Eve's third guardian and he's protecting her from the Drones evilness. Eve has guidance throughout by the spirt of her children trying help figure out and help her survive. So when Eve escapes with the help of her three guardians, we find out that it's Eve's genetics that's keeping her alive. Eve is a bad-assed fighting heroine who survives so many obstacles thrown in her way on the battle to find out answers. She's helped out by her 3 guardians,all United to help her survive by any means. We are still left with questions of what is going to happen now they've escaped the evil Drone. With the this being a trilogy I'd expect these to be answered within the next 2 books, I'm thoroughly intrigued to find out what happens next and what the ending will be. I was reluctant to how I'd feel about reading this genre, but I'm glad I did, it pulled me out of my comfort zone and I really enjoyed it. If you're hesitant about reading this kind of genre I'd say go for it.
