Not great. Really didn't enjoy this. Found main character irritating and implausible. Twist ending awful. Read first few pages, will give you good flavour as to whether it's for you.

Hmmm. I have very mixed emotions about this book. The twist I predicted and the ending was terrible. I can't say I didn't enjoy it but it was fairly average.

Well written and darkly humorous. The Good Mother manages to combine all my favourite elements in a novel to produce an emotional, tense and thought provoking read. The imagery used throughout the writing is stunning, and the reader is cleverly manipulated into trusting, well, both of the speakers - without knowing who is presenting the most reliable account of events. Some readers complain that the twist is obvious - I disagree. The novel keeps you guessing throughout and the ending is an explosive one, bringing to light all the answers you didn't even realise you needed. Well worth a second read, knowing what the ending is, to pick up on the clues and hints throughout.

The Good Mother. This was an exciting read. There was a massive twist 3/4 of the way through and then another one (which I slightly guessed) right at the end, hence the 4 stars. Nevertheless a book I would definitely recommend reading!

Unsuspecting twists. Loads of twists, just as you suspect one thing to happen a new twist emerges - very enjoyable.

Absolutely loved this book!. Couldn't put it down, it's so intriguing and gripping! There's a surprise around every corner, would so recommend. It's a brilliant read, very well written!

Awful. Started off ok but became boring & unbelievable.

Ruined by expecting the twist. Great story but disappointing that they've highlighted the twist on the cover and in the description! Would have been much better if you were given a chance to experience it for yourself without waiting for the inevitable.
