Three Kingdoms by 罗贯中 Book Summary
As one of the four Classical Novels in Chinese literature, Romance of the Three Kingdoms is a must read for anyone who has an interest in Chinese literary works and history. Based on true historical events, the book brings to life the personalities, epic fighting as well as military geniuses spanning the whole period between the foundation of the state of Wei in 220 AD and the conquest of the state of Wu by the Jin dynasty in 280 AD. Many characters and episodes in the book are familiar to every Chinese, and the book's influence on the Chinese culture is so deep rooted, that it's not an exaggeration to say: without reading the Three Kingdoms, you won't be able to fully understand the Chinese mentality and its culture.
The book is a bilingual version, with each Chinese chapter followed immediately by the English version, so both Chinese and English readers can enjoy it without any difficulty.
