Outstanding read. What a incredible book both in terms of story and writing. Hard to believe this is a first novel. The author created mesmerizing characters with individual stories wrapped around an extraordinary central character. Please, Ms Weiss, more! Where have you been hiding all these years?!?

If the Creek Don’t Rise. WOW ! What a book. Not my usual style to read, but once I started I couldn’t stop. I wanted not only for Sadie to have her revenge, but I wanted to find out what happened to the rest of the standout characters. This book would make a great movie. Very well written.

Hard to put down!. The story of a tiny Appalachian community told from multiple perspectives, with expertly woven clues in each chapter. I really loved the ending. The prose is easy to read and get lost in. A good book for a weekend read.
