Family?!. I love harlequin desire books especially the Texas Cattleman’s series! In this book it’s all about Harley and Grant who fell into bed together years ago. Harley comes back into town years later with a big surprise for Grant. Will Grant get what he wants and will they become a family? Enjoyable Read. This book is an enjoyable second chance romance and focuses on Harley Wingate, an international philanthropist, and Grant Everett, a fertility specialist physician who discovers he has a secret son as a result of a weekend fling with Harley. Grant broke off their relationship since he was several years older than Harley. I recommend this enjoyable romance. Being Stubborn in Love. What would you do if you had a beautiful weekend full of hot steamy passionate romance with someone and then find out the person is much younger than you? You have caught feelings for this person and now you feel betrayed. You tell her you don’t want to have anything more to do with her and now she is hurt, devastated because she fell in love with him. Now she leaves town because of a secret and tells no one why. Fast forward five years later she returns back to Royal Texas with her secret still unknown and will she tell her secret or keep it to herself. This is Grant Everett and Harley Wingate Story. I love how the author characters was well developed and you can feel all of the emotions of love, pain, disappointment, betrayal, romance, caring that they were going through. At times I wanted to choke both Grant and Harley because of their stubbornness and not communicating their true honest feelings to each other. They always say you should not assume. This book was a page turner and I recommend it to read, especially if you like books with romance, secrets, family drama and steamy love. I look forward to reading more books by this author. Grant and Harley!. From the moment that Grant and Harley met at the Texas Cattleman’s Club ball the sparks flew and they spent a steamy evening together. Instead of the beginning of a relationship it became the end when he found out a personal detail about Harley that he wasn’t comfortable with, and they took their hurt feelings and went their separate ways. Five years later Harley has returned from living overseas for two reasons. One is to secure the backing for the charity she created and the other is to introduce her son to his father. Will this be their second chance or are they destined to end in heartbreak once again? I really enjoyed both these characters as they both had the best of intentions when it came to their son. Their hearts have always known they have belonged to each other and now they just need to accept it in their heads.

I really enjoyed watching this pair find their way. This story took one of my favorite themes: a second chance, and combined it with a theme that I always have mixed reactions to: secret baby. What came out of this blend was a wonderful surprise. I particularly liked how realistic the emotional reactions are in this book. As a human species we’re often irrational and defensive, and that came through clearly in Grant and Harley’s behavior. Grant is analytical and controlled, whereas Harley is emotional and impulsive. Together, they aren’t just like oil and water, they’re more like fire and gasoline; absolutely incendiary. They have the potential to bring out the best in other, instead they’re usually behaving their very worst. I really enjoyed watching this pair find their way together. And now I’m kind of inspired to read more about this latest foray back to the TCC. I received a complimentary copy of this book through Booksprout.
