Yep. It’s great.. I love Elmore Leonard, and with this book, SA Cosby has reached Leonard’s level in terms of character vitality, voice, shifting POV and twisty storytelling.

Razorblade tears. Excellent read. Good from start to finish.

On a budget good for the price. I give this book 3 stars the reason is that the begging is about the discipline of his daylight habits

Wonderful Book. Great story. What a page turner!!! So many themes….parenthood, racism, homophobia and classism.

Rollercoaster ride!. Incredibly descriptive, violent and yet, a story of awakening in people who had failed to fulfill their love. It’s a story about a type of people and their circumstances that few readers will ever come across, much less understand, but the writing will get you pretty close. The tension is palpable and you have a sense of where it’s going, but you can’t help but see it through. A great read that is the proverbial, “hard to put down.”

Wow!. I was not prepared to like this book or love these characters as I did. The book, these men , made me laugh, made me cry, cringe (sometimes)but always made me appreciate the character driven story of these two men who had so much to learn about love, a bit about loyalty, and about the “joys”of being “friends of Dorthy,” and they learned it with each other and sometimes despite each other and through their trials and tribulations they became the man, the fathers, their boys would’ve been proud of!

Good teaching moments. Good book, easy enjoyable read.

Pensive Novel with a Rugged Edge. “Razorblade Tears” is a hard story. It’s not a softball throw – it’s a rocket launcher that meets you at whatever stage of acceptance that you’re at and pushes you more towards clarity and enlightenment. When your value system is at odds with your duty as a parent, it unearths nuances and feelings that you never knew existed. Families are on different sides of the fence. Friends shift from positions of influence to just someone you used to know. Buddy Lee and Ike are those avengers that you wish you had in your corner if something ever happened to you, but even then, they are flawed. “Razorblade Tears” allows you to not only see their hard exteriors, but their vulnerability. The moments where you’re ready to judge them to filth are counterbalanced with dialogue that you can’t help but understand. Anyone who reads this book can see the imagery as you travel down roads and highways on Buddy Lee and Ike’s journey, but this book also has nuances that only sons and daughters of the Commonwealth can truly appreciate. Do not expect to understand everything that this novel unearths. Expect to will for Ike and Buddy Lee’s success in all of the gruesome details. Each antagonist will make you want to cuss out loud. You’ll make predictions as you read and will not be satisfied until those forecasts are confirmed or disproven. Read this book, sit back and get ready for a wild ride. Fair warning – you’ll be in it for the long haul and will not be content until you turn the last page.

That is the best book…. I’ve read in a while. Tears, laughter (out loud a few times) and sheer joy. I’ve read all of Cosbys books but this one. Easily his best.
