No Easy Choice by Kathryn Shay Book Summary

Two happily-married firefighters must deal with the rigors and responsibilities of a new baby in their relationship.

Firefighter Annie Ferris O’Shea has it all: an idyllic marriage to her high school sweetheart, an exciting career and a circle of devoted friends. But when she has a child, everything changes.

Colin O’Shea is a traditional good guy who sees things in black and white. He adores his wife—hell they’ve been together since he was sixteen—but the addition of a new baby complicates their relationship.

They fight! They end up in bed! And nothing’s solved. Colin’s frustrated and Annie’s disgusted at what’s become of them. The Sisters of Fire babysit her daughter and take Annie on nights out, but they can’t make these two see eye-to-eye. The O’Shea’s marriage is in jeopardy.

When any kind of compromise seems doomed, will Colin and Annie have to face the end of their marriage?

Scoop up this story. As one reviewer sees it, “This is a beautifully crafted novella that feels genuine and true. The Sisters of Fire step in when needed and provide a strong base for this couple. Great book. No Easy Choice is the 3rd book in the Sisters of Fire series. This time we have Annie and Colin’s story. Annie is on maternity leave after having their first child and struggling with lack of sleep, guilt and feeling overwhelmed by motherhood. This is a very realistic account of a couple trying to adjust to their new baby. Colin has been offered a promotion which initially causes him to be away from home more causing more stress for Annie. Fortunately, they are both committed to their marriage and willing to do whatever is necessary to keep their family together. It is great to catch up with the other sisters of fire. Ms Shay is a great writer who brings her characters to life. I’m looking forward to the next book in this series.

Great read.. In Sisters of Fire book 3 Annie and Colin are having some struggles after the birth of their daughter. It is rare to read a romance focused on a married couple but even more a book that highlights the decisions a young family often faces when making decisions for the family. The Sisters of Fire really do look out for each other, offering advice and solutions. Through all of the challenges Colin and Annie show their love. What a refreshing book. Kathryn Shay has hit it out of the park. A true real world challenge for couples.

Sisters of Fire-Annie and Colin. When Annie has her baby, a baby she has wanted and loves dearly, she is soon faced with a choice of when to return to work. Both Annie and Colin struggle with the adjustment of loving their newborn and wanting what is best for her while jiggling careers, promotions and family time. As with many of her other books, Ms. Shay Writes a wonderful story while mixing in real life struggles and showing how to work through issues. She helps to encourage and gives usable solutions that are usable. Kudos!

No Easy Choice. I received a complimentary copy of this book and I am voluntarily reviewing it. This is the third book of the series. A group of women went through the fire academy together and formed a life-long support group. They call themselves Sisters of Fire. Each book is about a different woman and her struggles with not only being a female firefighter but struggles in her personal life. While each book if focused on a different woman, the others make multiple appearances. I would highly suggest that the books be read in order to fully understand the dynamics of the group. Colin and Annie have been married since she graduated from high school and both became firefighters. After 10 years of being happily married, they now face some serious issues. They welcomed Bridget, their baby girl, into their lives. Annie is struggling with being a new mom and having to do all of the parenting by herself as Colin works part-time at his family's garage. They have both worked a full-time job plus a part-time jobs as well. She wants Colin to spend more time with their daughter as time is slipping away and he is missing out on Bridget's daily changes. Due to his past, Colin has financial issues and saves every penny for the future. Annie wants to open the purse strings a little so she can take another two months of unpaid maternity leave. Adding to the strain on the couple, Colin is jealous that there is a famous author (Brent) that joins in the playgroup that Annie takes Bridge to several times a week. Colin feels that Brent may take Annie away from him. While this is not your typical romance book as the couple is already married, it is great to read a story that really shows the struggle and work that goes into making a marriage work. I adored reading about this couple and look forward to the next book. The only downside to me was where. Annie had a few beers while she is still breastfeeding. I will admit that times have changed and maybe these days that is fine but that still bothers me.

No Easy Choice. Colin’s lieutenant birthday party, crew got sub’s to work for them tonight. Annie first night out in ten days, the baby had a cold, a call the baby won’t stop crying to come. Realizing that life changes and choices now to make. Annie wanted 2 more months leave. Colin knew the lack of money from growing up, working extra while she was home. Boss asked him about going to another station and be the boss of his own crew. Getting physical train for it would take extra time, should he even think about it. A good down to earth story, of each deciding what was best for them as an individual, then what they wanted as a family for the love to continue Given ARC for my voluntary review and my honest opinion

No Easy Choice. ARC for honest review with no compensation No Easy Choice is book 3 in the Sisters of Fire series by Kathryn Shay and while each book is a standalone, reading them in order gives you a better understanding of each woman, her background and the camaraderie between them. Up next is Annie Ferris O’Shea, married to her high school sweetheart, loving her career, just recently had a baby and now that her maternity leave is up they have to make some decisions…going from two incomes to one, staying home and not missing out on they baby growing, modern day versus old society, promotions, longer hours and finding a happy medium for a happy life.

Emotional and Enjoyable. No Easy Choice is book 3 in the Sisters of Fire Series and this is firefighter Annie Ferris O’Shea and her husband Colin’s emotional story. It’s a captivating read and a great addition to the series of short reads all of which pack a mighty punch. A new baby always brings so much love but they also bring disruption and Annie is struggling as a lot of new mums do with sleep deprivation and all the worries of having a new baby. Colin and Annie realise communication and help is needed so they organise counselling and that’s when this story shows you how much love this couple really have for each other. This is a very different type of romance story, it features real life issues, it’s beautifully written with characters and a story a lot of woman will relate too. It’s about love, fear and must importantly trust, it’s a wonderful read that brings in friendships and the sisterhood at the fire station and it will appeal to a wide range of audiences..

A good addition. No Easy Choice is the third book in Kathryn Shay's latest series and this was at times an emotional read but one that is realistic and certainly resonates with me. This is firefighter Annie Ferris O’Shea and her husband Colin O’Shea’s story and it was a captivating read and one I quickly became invested in. Having recently had a baby Annie and Colin are struggling with all a new baby entails. Dealing with sleep deprivation, money issues and a wealth of other issues both are having a hard time. Communication is the key and so they decide to seek counselling, a brave move since a lot of couples would just bury their heads in the sand. This is a well written story, a story that is not your normal romance, but realistic. It is a story of love, of facing ones fears and of taking a giant leap of faith. It is a story of sisterhood, when their friends step in to offer them the love and support they need.
