Six Months in Montana by Pamela M. Kelley Book Summary
Molly Bishop loves living in Manhattan and managing a boutique luxury hotel. She's about to be promoted to her dream job of General Manager, the role she's been striving for her entire career.
There's only one thing standing in her way.
The will of her childhood friend, Christian Ford's grandfather. She hasn't even seen Christian in over ten years, but a recent run-in with his grandfather during a rare visit home, resulted in a new condition to the will. Christian will only inherit the ranch he's been running and the real estate development business that he has expanded, if he marries Molly and stays married for at least six months.
This is what I would call a cozy romance, it's romantic and sweet and is set in a small fictional town about 30 miles from Bozeman, MT. Warning, if you prefer your stories with the bedroom doors wide open and the windows steamed up, you may be disappointed. :)
I love to cook and try new recipes and if you do too, you may want to check out the recipe I included at the end of the book, for Lazy Lobster Casserole, the dish that Molly serves her guests at the Rose Cottage Inn's first wine dinner. It's a recipe I know by heart and have made a million times and is great for special occasions. It's a holiday tradition in our family to have it every Christmas Eve. :)

Q & A with the Author
Q-This is a sweet western romance set in Montana with a marriage of convenience plot. Why Montana? Why a marriage of convenience? Hasn't that been done to death?
A-The setting of Montana is actually what came to me first. I was inspired by a close friend who moved to Bozeman in her late 30's because she'd visited the area once and it felt like home. She bought a kayak and joined a local kayak club to make friends and ended up meeting the love of her life. A year later married and now have a five month old baby boy. So now, to me, Bozeman means romance. :)
I grew up reading Harlequin category romances, and have always loved the marriage of convenience stories. I knew they were popular with western romances, with all the mail-order brides, and I wanted to put a modern spin on it. I loved the idea of a meddling grandfather who plays match-maker from the grave. Having the stipulation that Molly and Christian have to stay married for six months made the premise even more fun. I also have a soft spot for the idea of best friends (in this case former childhood best friends) who end up together.
Q-What writers have influenced you?
A-Where do I start? There are so many! There's a few main ones that come to mind who I really admire. Debbie Macomber is one. I love the sweet romances that she writes and the family focused women's fiction and continuing series. I first discovered her when she was writing for Silhouette and fell in love with her voice. I bought every Debbie Macomber book as soon as they were released. Maeve Binchy is another favorite. I love the warm cast of characters that populate her stories. Danielle Steel is another writer I really admire. My sister and I read all of her books as soon as they are released. We always know exactly what we are getting with her books, a sweet escape with likable people and a story you can't put down.
Q-What's next?
A- I'm working on MISCHIEF IN MONTANA, which is the third book in this sweet western romance series. MISTLETOE IN MONTANA is book 2, and that's available now and features Traci and Dan, who we meet in SIX MONTHS IN MONTANA. I also recently released a cozy mystery, TRUST, which was really fun to write and is the first in a new series set in a seaside town in Massachusetts.

Six Months in Montana. This was a decent book that didnāt take me long to read. What I did not like was the actual writing itself. There were many repetitive sentences and situations throughout the book, the grammar wasnāt the best, as I found mistakes, and the ending was predictable.

Good read butā¦.. I liked this book and would have given it 5 stars had the editing and proof reading had been better. Lots of spelling and grammatical errors that interrupted my read. Hopefully this author will bring people in to handle this effort for her..

Fun. Fun to read
it turned out surprisedly amazing. I kinda not like romance novels.I downloaded it by accidentally.And I read this just to bore myself to sleep.But it surprised me then took me overnight to finish it and couldn't help writing down my complements with lack of sleep early morning. I'd like to read it again soon!
A great story!. A great story! I'm not sure why but I love stories about arranged marriages. There's something about two people falling for each other when pushed together and the 'age is wisdom' thing (since most are arranged by grandparents). I really enjoyed Christian and Molly's story. The old friendship that was reignited and built on, their ease with each other, and natural flow of their relationship was perfect without a lot of drama. Her ability to overlook and understand Isabella shows Molly's maturity and self-confidence which make her perfect for Christian.
Terrible. Where to start? When you start reading you have this feeling that it is going to be a good romance...and yes there is good romance between the food and wine. The author was hungry while writing this book or just wanted to write a cook book. There is no development between the main characters. If you take all the description about the food you can read the book in 30 minutes maximum. Too boring, extremely boring. I don't understand why it has some many good reviews.
Dismal "Romance" novel. I'm very glad this was a free book. Whoever told this author ( and I use the term loosely) that she could write, was sadly mistaken! Where was the romance or the sexual tension? Who are these reviewers that said this was a good book? They must be very young and inexperienced in love because I felt nothing while reading this book and I'm a very emotional person. This author should definitely stick to "free" novels.

Cute story. Cute story but there was no depth to the characters. It was almost a cliff notes version of a great story that made the character have little personality or depth to their relationship.

A fast easy read. This is a very predictable plot, but still quite satisfying. The characters are nicely drawn & of course, quite likable. One of my favorite things about this book & the one other Iāve read by this author is that she lets you fill in your own imagination about the bedroom scenes. I often find myself skipping ahead on many books because the sex scenes are so over the top explicit. The discretion of this author is much appreciated.

Finding Yourself!!. Great reading from start to finish! This is one of those reads you just can't stop reading! There's more than a romance here. It's also finding yourself and determining if your happiness means family more important than a profession.
Meh. Characters were very flat. The story focused on random things instead of their āloveā story. I use the word love loosely because we donāt even see them fall in love they just kinda say it halfway through. Wouldāve been nice to know what the characters are supposed to look like as well instead of trying to guess

Interesting, lovely and exactly what I wanted. A quick bit of thanks to the author and her editor(s) for creating a lovely romance with engaging characters who enjoy their life, family and work. What a relief to find! With the tidal wave of paranormal, dark paranormal, and explicit erotic romance out there it's so refreshing to find an author willing to take a chance with everyday characters--people who work, enjoy their family and friends, and happen along something worth investing in. While there are some trite moments, e.g., a recently deceased, eclectic "gramps" "forcing" a marriage, the suddenly too tidy ending, I enjoyed the book from start to finish and found in it exactly what I was looking for: a smile, an enjoyable read, and a warmed heart. I look forward to the next book and wish the author continued success.

Great cook book. So much detail of the cooking and food dishes, but nothing of romance and electricity ( other than of the oven kind). seemed to just jump through stages of romance, totally non-flowing and very rushed ending. Idea has potential but author didn't deliver.

I recently broke my ankle very badly, so Iām bed ridden, Iām on medication, which unfortunately I canāt sleep at night, I have chose a few books to read and I came across this one, absolutely loved it, I read the book in one night, I couldnāt put it down such a beautiful read, I look forward to reading many more of these books thankyou so much

Amazing Romantic Novel. This book has me hooked on the series, This twisted romance really makes you want to read more and more and MORE! Molly and Christian are the perfect couple with this romantic set up by gramps it is all you want in a romance where they just suddenly fall in love
So close. I really liked the idea behind this book. The story line was different to ones I had read before and it really had potential...but unfortunately I felt it was extremely descriptive and not very emotive. I really didn't feel like I got a sense of romance or even of who the characters were. I don't think I will read the next one.

Conflict?. There was no driving conflict or real chemistry between the main characters, so the story felt a bit flat to me.
