Lost in Texas by Sandy Appleyard Book Summary

The cowboy refusing to mourn. The city girl in a strange predicament. The scoundrel that thinks fiancés come with a price tag.

Never, ever date a client. That’s what I keep telling myself. Until Terence Daniels walks into my office. Fine. I caved. Biggest mistake of my life. Next thing I know I’m fleeing Louisiana, hunkering down with my best friend in Dallas. I’m starving, terrified, so confused, and I’m thinking…things just cannot get any worse. Until Kate’s car breaks down outside this bar that looks like their patrons kill women with sticks. We have no choice but to go inside. What I find in there is nothing that I would expect. What unfolds in the coming weeks are more mistakes. Better ones. And then one that I’ll forever call my favorite mistake.

After the day I’ve had, I’d sooner eat my boot than cook something. My brother Zack agrees, so we go to this hillbilly bar, where we keep a tab. One cranky woman and her sidekick show up, looking like lawyers among us cowboys, and we ask if we can help. The cranky one thinks we’re trying to steal her car, but the other one softens. All is fine and dandy until she hits us with something that would shock a groundhog back into his burrow until hell freezes over. The look in her eyes is what gets me. Fear. I can’t stand that in a woman. Especially this one, with the tough exterior, making out like she’s fine when inside she’s a crumbling mess. Never figured she’d turn things around like she does. Never figured I’d be the one to help her put it all back together. Never figured she’d see right through me yet show me the way in a way that nobody else has.

…and for the life of me, I never figured that she’d inadvertently bring so much danger to the ranch.

Beautiful. The story is beautiful and the characters are interesting and sexy.

Lost in Texas. (Pls note, this can be for Sandy’s eyes only) Again!?! Oh please 🙄. Once more - another ‘cliff hanger’ Look dear, this drives me crazy. It makes me want to down grade your review to a high of a 3 star’ at best! But I don’t - bc I think the story itself is very good, the characters are yummy, the brothers are yummy too, wh makes me WANT to meet them all - but only when i can afford them. It makes me think you’re greedy and I don’t believe you to be. There has got to be a way to accomplish the same thing… maybe finish the story at hand, then begin, or lead into the next story. Then poor little ol’ ladies such as myself can at least have the satisfaction of finishing the story. You see, not all of us can afford that much to pay for one book after another. And unfortunately (?) I’m a fast reader 🤷🏻‍♀️. I will purchase the next book tho bc I want to FINISH the book I started!

Great read. Love the story line, even if your Texans are a little heavy on the country “twang”. I live in the south, we don’t actually talk like that. But can wait to read the next book.

Cliff Hanger!!! NOT IMPRESSED. Takes a bit to get into, then leaves a giant cliff hanger

Lost in Texas. The story started off good, but the vulgar language was too much. I just quit reading it.

Lost in Texas. Storyline was good although a bit out there at times. Needs some better editing. I am not a fan of cliffhangers though. Most people are not.

Disappointed in ending. I liked the story but I did not like the way it ended abruptly unfinished.

💕💕. Excellent story line! The characters seem real life. I literally laughed out loud several times.

Lost in Texas. This is a easy read with a good storyline that has humor, suspense, unwanted pregnancy, a couple of good ‘ol cowboys to the rescue and a sweet tender hearted cowboy who falls madly in love with the city girl. It ends on a cliffhanger and can’t wait for the next book in this series. Very good read! I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Not a fan of cliff-hangers!. Lost in Texas is the first book in Sandy Appleyard’s Big Heart, Small Town Address about second chances, however, I wasn’t expecting a cliff-hanger ending which I am not a fan of. This was definitely a different take on a romance, as the hero was absent most of the first third of the book and it also took a while to connect with the characters. Overall, it was a good read, but I’ll wait to read book two before I decide if I’ll continue the series. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Fantastic reading. Shame it ended in a cliffhanger - was really good book to read

Loved reading. Lost in Texas, what a sweetie Blake’s character is, Ruby finding her happy ever after. Then bang, the finish was left in the air. So disappointed.
