You had me at woof. Our first boston was a rescue, the second from a inhome breeder. Both dogs have enriched our lives but after reading this book, we will always use the rescue route from now on. The book was delightful.

Easy and thoroughly enjoyable read. I went 15 years of my life between dogs, and found bostons. Then, this book came along. It is a strange thing, to have somebody write about some... thing that you think you are the only one who knows about. BTs are a weird little microcosm of the world, like collecting red m&ms, or love for 1990's mercury tempos. Although the author does show devout favoritism to BTs, she makes her connections between people and all dogs (fewer long-snouted dogs) with memories, children, and life lessons. It is a feel-good book, but a realistic one that I will probably read again when the time comes, and when I need to relate to a stranger who lost her best friends and wrote about them. In the meantime, your hairy little weirdos will benefit from every page turn - which can, and has, resulted in tons of hugging and licking. Enjoy!

A warm fuzzy read. What a charming story. Dogs change us as human beings, and Julie was quite adept at relaying just how each dog she encountered enriched her and her family's lives. This is not a long, drawn out goodbye story of someone's beloved dog passing on. It focuses on how her love of animals and her devotion to animal rescue molded the path of her life. Lot's of funny as well as sad moments.

Funny. This book was for true dog lovers. I laughed out loud several times and felt Darrow as well. I really enjoyed the book.

If you're looking for a must read..... This is a must read for any animal lover! Julie carries the reader through her own heart-wrenching experiences working with a dog rescue and the immense amount of love it has brought to a life that may have otherwise turned out very differently if not for her "furbabies". Being a dog owner and animal enthusiast I love stories like this that solidify what we're all feeling when you just KNOW what your pet is thinking or ailing. A great, witty story about the undeniable bond that we have with our fur kids. Julie Klam roped me in after reading just her hilarious and charming sample!! I couldn't put it down!!

You Had Me at Woof. This book had the potential to be really good but falls a little flat. The quality of the writing is mediocre. The author's stories about her dogs are mildly entertaining but not as much as one would expect given the circumstances. She didn't make me believe that she loves her dogs as much as she probably does. In the end I wasn't moved by the book. It just wasn't rich enough in detail.

Spectacular. Typical Julie Klam. Warm, funny, brilliant. Left a permanent stain on the carpets of my heart.
