I needed this book!. I'm pregnant with my second child and received the startling news after my 18week ultrasound appointment that she could have a trisomy disorder that could be fatal even before her birth. Scared and confused as we awaited the results of the amniocentesis I did research to learn more and 'prepare' myself for the road ahead. This book has been my comforter during this emotional period. Although the amniocentesis came back that she has normal chromosomes, the follow up ultrasound is still showing signs of birth defects. I'm grateful for the baby I've been blessed to carry, my baby girl, and thankful that Ms. Beck wrote a book so honest and heartfelt to help me appreciate the 'unknown.'

Expecting Adam. Martha Beck is sure on point and track when she says that we all have an Adam in our lives. - I too believe in spiritual intervention and believing strongly in my intuition to guide us through "this harsh world". Some of my best friends (including my husband of over 50 years) think I am sometimes wacky. But, I am extremely content and happy with life AND LOVE my family and friends deeply. Ps. I too have had encounters with dolphins and have pictures to prove it! Special thanks Martha for a great read. Our book club will discuss it next week and I cannot wait to HEAR their comments. Inspirational!. This book has just been re-released in bookstores with an addendum about Adam, now in his 20's. I read this book 10 years ago when my husband was going through chemotherapy and radiation for stomach cancer. I will never forget how this book inspired me to find the strength to deal with this difficult time. This book remains in the Top 5 best books I have ever read! I work with special needs students and truly believe that they are a gift ...P.S. My husband survived his cancer after being told he had a 5% chance of doing so. Miracles do happen! Thank you, Martha Beck, for making me a believer!
