A must read. I read this book as a teenager, as a newly commissioned officer and now as a retired veteran. Each time, my experiences have colored how the book affects me. Each time, it was a powerful experience. This is a must read for all persons who seek a leadership role. What it states about character and setting an example is timeless.

Still great, still relevant. This is one of the best novels of all time and should be required reading for all leaders; not just those in the military. I've read this book 8 times over the last 20 years and enjoy it every single time.

Best book ever. I've worn out 3 paper back copies, so I'm pumped this is finally digital. I love how it shows not only the combat and loss during conflict, but also the politics and more mundane aspects of a military life. Damon is my hero.

Once an Eagle. This should be required reading for anyone who has never gone to war, and for those about to.

Required Reading. This book has been required reading for US military officers for years. It's one of the best stories about a military career that's ever been written. I'm glad it's finally a e-book.

Head spinner. Very hard to follow. Written in a far different era. Not my cup of tea, but perhaps yours?

Love this book.. I love this book. One of the very few pieces of literature with strong female characters that add to the story as independent, strong, and realistic characters. The movie sucked, the book remains amazing. This is a story of leadership, trial, and captures the world of military life as it could be if the bloody politicians would leave it alone.

Amazing book!. I recommend this book to anybody who is interested in joining the military and/or someone who is looking to become a great human being. Long but the best book that I have read so far.
