Nano by Robin Cook Book Summary

A lavishly funded, security-conscious nanotechnology institute in the foothills of the Rockies, Nano is ahead of the curve in the competitive world of molecular manufacturing, including the construction of microbivores, tiny nanorobots with the ability to gobble up viruses and bacteria.

But when Pia Grazdani takes a job there, she’s shocked by the secretive corporate culture. She’s warned by her boss not to investigate the other work being done at the gigantic facility, nor to ask questions about the source of the seemingly endless capital that funds the institute’s research. And when Pia encounters a fellow employee on a corporate jogging path suffering the effects of a seizure, she soon realizes she may have literally stumbled upon Nano’s human guinea pigs. Is the tech giant on the cusp of one of the biggest medical discoveries of the twenty-first century—a treatment option for millions—or have they already sold out to the highest bidder?

Disappointment. I am Robin Cook fanboy. I've read every novel of his that he's written as far as I can tell. I may have missed one or two but I doubt it. I have never, never, ever written a review. This is my first. However, I felt I needed to. Bad bad ending. What happened to Pia? Did she really die? Is this a cliffhanger? I even went to the website to see if there was any clue because the ending was so unsatisfied. I will, however, continue to buy Robin Cook books. Every author is entitled to one or two clinkers. It is rare for him.

Rivitimg. Page turning till the end. I understand the ending but see many people don’t. I don’t want to give anything away but will say it is what it is

No conclusion. What a let down story never resolves.

Part One of How Many?. I knew I was in trouble when there were only about fifty pages left. It was either going to be one of those hastily thrown together endings where the hero suddenly rides in pulling together all of the loose ends while saving the day or.... the rest is left for the sequel. If this was part one it should have stated so. I personally have no interest in slogging through another book to find out if the heroine is saved or not.

Poorly written, shallow characters, hardly a plot.. Not only was this book written in the simplest, most juvenile style and language but gratuitous and ridiculous "twists" come out of left field. Like I'm supposed to believe it when the handsome young interesting doctor who's tripping over himself to get to know the stunningly gorgeous main character casually mentions his "boyfriend" like he's some open-minded, free love all-comers. Then why build him up to go after the girl? Just stupid things like that. Not to mention that the author succeeds in making you not care one whit about any of the characters (which in itself is a talent I suppose). Lastly, this is 6 hours and $10 of my life I'll never get back! (No I'm not finishing it!)

Nano by Robin Cook. It left the question of Pia’s where about hanging. I didn’t care for that ending. Still a great written book.

Nano. Usually Robin Cook's books are really good but not this one. The story was a huge disappointment. The ending was BAD. The whole book was just BAD. The science didn't seem thought out and there was no suspense. Again the book was just bad...awful. The ending seemed like a part two was coming to finish the story. Will not be buying part two. Don't care what happens to the heroine. The book was that bad.

Nano. For the first book I've read by Cook, I can definitively say I will read his other works. Nano was thrilling and a great read.

Nano. What a terrible ending! It was patehetic!

Nano. Robin Cook has written many excellent books over the years, and I fully enjoy his plots. However, while the story line in Nano is interesting, the ending was terrible !! Can't suggest buying it. sorry.

Nano. I have always enjoyed books by Robin Cook. He has a way of combining new science with an exciting plot. This book had very little science or excitement. I kept reading thinking that something would happen but almost nothing does.

Nano. While the medical science was present, along with suspense, I would have expected no typos, and the major character to not just disappear. Seems you were in a hurry to finish!

Wrotten.... All of the 1 star reviews are accurate. This book was going along just fine until the end. I think Robin Cook let the pen get out of control. It reminded me of a friend who was drawing a picture, and his blue pen ran out of ink, so he had to draw a fire to take up the space.

Nano. A pathetic attempt at a medical thriller Do not waste your time or money. It is a shame that an author that has published very good books has stooped so low

Nano. Worst book I have read in years. A feeble attempt at a non romance romance novel disguised as a science thriller lacking any thrill or cohesion. I will Never buy a book by this ridiculous Author Again. I want my money back for the absurd waste of my time. An insult to writers .

Waste of a read. The premise sounded very interesting, the possibility of nanobots injected into humans to prolong endurance. Wish I would have read the reviews before I hit "buy." The characters were so underdeveloped. Pia's father a thug, and her aloof, run-off behavior was never fully explained. Did Mr. Cook farm out chapters to writers he taught/mentored? I have read many Robin Cook novels (loved Coma) but Nano was a bad, bad book. Mr. Cook, what happened?

Nano. Waste of time-- NO ending!!

Nano. Wish I had read the reviews first. A waste of time.
