Love It!!!. Lori Foster has another hit on her hands. If you read McKenzies of Ridge Trail then you will love this. Come be reacquainted with Jodi from Stronger Than You Know and meet Hunter our new favorite alpha male! Two troubled souls who help each other heal. Meet up with old friends from Ridge Trail and watch the bad guys get squashed!! Love it!! Already can’t wait for the next one.

Not your usual hero/heroine. The one thing that I liked about this story is that Jodi and Hunter are not your usual hero/heroine. Especially Jodi, I loved that she spoke her mind and if she wasn’t sure about something, she asked for clarification. Hunter was a pretty typical “alpha” and wanted to to protect her. But, he really did a great job in letting her handle her situation and holding back (just enough) without being overbearing and letting her know that he trusts her instincts. It does help to read “The McKenzies of Ridge Trail” series. It helps in setting up Jodi’s story. Ms Foster has a great way of introducing secondary characters that will hopefully have their own stories.

Great book!. Fantastic story! Five huge stars….omg where to start. First this is a spin-off series which doesn’t hinder but there are more characters with small parts than I’m used to. It was still an easy stand alone but I wish I’d known and brushed up in the characters before my plunge. What did I like? Hunter and Jodi were a match made from an eventful life. Both with some severe trauma but they complimented each other well. I adored them! Turbo was the family adorable dog and he somehow managed to steal the show in my book! I love the four legged friends! The book also reveals some more characters who will hopefully be in the next book! Would I recommend or buy! I have a Lori Foster shelf! I’ve been reading and loving her series for years and they are engrossing! I really enjoyed this book! I’m hoping Memphis gets the next book. I received a complimentary copy from Netgalley and Lori’s ARC team. This is my opinion but there is an easy reason why she is so popular. Her books are amazing!

Page Turner!!. Jodi is attempting to get her life on track. She loves her new home and the life she is building. Meeting her sexy neighbor is not what she was planning. Hunter is drawn to Jodi and is finally letting someone in. When Jodi is put in danger her family along with Hunter take care of it. I loved how these two learned to trust and love each other.

Great beginning to the next series. Who remembers Jodi Bentley from the McKenzie’s of Ridge Trail books. She was Kennedy’s friend for those that need a quick update. Well, now she gets to have her own story. One where she tries her best to have a normal life as an everyday woman. Along the way she meets Hunter Osborn. A man hiding from his own demons who is not happy to suddenly have a neighbor. Unless that neighbor happens to be Jodi who caught his attention in town. Together they break down walls that have been erected around them for too long. Lori Foster brings in some characters from the McKenzie series “to visit”. You may never actually see them but they are there. If you know, you know. And if you are not familiar with the McKenzie’s you will still find a way to love them as Jodi’s family. I finished this book in less than twenty-four hours because it keeps you intrigued and wanting to turn pages. You will not want to pass this one up, especially if you love Lori Foster’s books.

Dangerous One. I absolutely loved this book! Two people who recognized themselves in each other.Both with painful pasts, yet with strengths and moral compass. Love Lori Fosters strong alpha men and the women they love! Hunter and Jodi are perfect for each other! I only wish the next in the series with Memphis was already written!

Must Read!. The chemistry of these two practically jumps off the page. We met Jodi while we got to know the Mckenzie’s, and she was a wild card that you were never sure what she would do, now she is still unpredictable but well armed and able to protect herself. Hunter is silent and deadly, yet also a protector even without knowing Jodi well. Once these two begin to trust each other and work together they are unstoppable. The story is a page tuner and love saying hi to the McKenzie’s. Must read if you are a Lori Foster fan.

Pulled me in from the start!. The Dangerous One is the first of the Osborn Brothers series but sees some characters from the McKenzies of Ridge Trail series. I so enjoyed reading the story of Hunter and Jodi. You can tell that Lori Foster cares about her characters; it’s easy to tell by reading the the beautiful way their stories unfold. I really loved Hunter. Who he is as a man, neighbor, friend, brother and lover are things that always pull me in. Jodi is the type of person that I root for. She hasn’t had an easy life and I just wanted her to have something, and someone, good. Add to that an array of interesting characters and it’s a recipe for a winning story. Lori is one of my absolute favorite authors and this book is another one that reminds me of why I love her books so much. It is a great read!

Great story. Great story of two kindred spirits, both trying to overcome their turbulent past. This was a suspenseful sweet romance that kept you hooked until the end. I received this arc for my honest opinion.

Good, but not the best. 3 stars as an audiobook, 3.5 stars as a book. This audiobook is a spin-off of the last romantic suspense series by Lori Foster, The McKenzies of Ridge Trail. It is about Jodi, the friend of Kennedy who was the heroine of book 2. After some time working and training with the McKenzies and the trafficked women they rescued, Jodi wants the “everyday life for the everyday woman.” She buys a small home in need of rehab out away from people, but near a small town. The McKenzies set her up with a landscaping business. However, her home is not completely isolated. There is one other property down her dirt road, and it belongs to Hunter, who also move to an area of isolation, but near a small town after an experience with a pair of serial killers left him needing to be away from people. Despite wanting be annoyed with Jodi for encroaching on his isolation, he feels a kindred spirit in her and a draw toward her. He initiates a friendship, feeling protective of her, especially as she has caught the attention of some unsavory people in their small town. The story evolves from there as Hunter, Jodi, the McKenzies and Hunter’s brother work together to deal with whatever comes next. As usual, I enjoyed this book as I do all this author’s work. In crafting this story she describes a love affair which starts like the courting of a feral cat and gradually evolves into their happily ever after. Hunter and Jodi are able to help each other cope with the trauma in their pasts, but Jodi accepts that she will never be an “everyday woman.” Unfortunately, it lacked some of the suspense that the author’s books creates, placing it lower on my Lori Foster hierarchy, which lost it half a star. However, it is a good story and I look forward to the second book in this series, which I suspect will be about Hunter’s brother, Memphis. I had mixed feelings about the narrator for this audiobook. His voice was appealing when he was reading the story, and he used distinct voices for each character that he read. However, some of those voices sounded rather whiny, and characters like Kennedy and Madison from the last series were definitely not whiny women. This did detract some from my enjoyment of the audiobook, but not so much that I couldn’t appreciate the story he was reading. It did lose it a half star as an audiobook. All in all, I recommend this book for lovers of romantic suspense, but if whiny voices bother you, it might be better in book form.
