Box & Conspiracy Theories!. Box uses the latest Pickett book to unload all his political conspiracy theories. FBI, domestic terrorists, CCP influence, etc. Could have been a good read except his overall contempt of the political system. Maybe, he’s partly correct……..

Storm Watch. Absolutely the worst book in the series. I have read them all and enjoyed them. This is an absolute waste of time and money.

Good One. Fun book. Quick read with fast pace. If you have read thru the other Pickett books, you’ll enjoy the continuum of the Pickett family and friends. Will definitely be looking forward to the next installment of Joe Pickett & Co.

Disappointing. Spends way too much time and effort on divisive partisan polarizing politics appealing to libertarian anti anything issues. Plot solved by former governors appearance - how simplistically convenient..Not worth a thinking person’s time.

Storm Watch. Not the best by Box but not the worst. A lot of politics. Is the author running short of ideas? After all you can only have so many game poachers and so many blizzards in the state of Wyoming.

Short Story. Too short! More and more “good” authors are writing books less than 300 pages. If you haven’t got a story worth more than 300 pages call it a short story.

Yes, this book is a work of fiction. I thought it was very well written, kept me reading, I felt as if I were apart of the story. This is my first read by Cox. I will look for others. The political aspect is what we are Iiving today. My research tells me this story has a lot of truths in the fiber of the story.

Storm Watch. CJ Box is absolutely my favorite author. I’ve read every one f his Joe Pickett novels as well as his Cody Hoyt/ Cassie Dewell novels. They always leave me wanting for more. I highly recommend them for those wanting an excellent read.

To political. Couldn’t finish it….it’s a shame. I really enjoyed the series until he started injecting politics j to the work.

To Those who are disappointed -. If you think the author needs to move on because you’re bored or you can’t help but be offended by political overtones, I have a suggestion: instead of telling him to stop or write something else, simply put his books aside and curl up with your favorite Dostoevsky or Tolstoy - your literary sophistication has obviously surpassed those of us commoners. In the mean time, Mr. Box, wear out your keyboard!

Why not tie up loose ends?. As with many of Mr Box’s Pickett books, the ending of this book leaves many obvious questions unanswered. This could have been avoided without much effort from the author by simply answering these questions: 1) how were the many deaths at the hands of the falconers, as undeputized citizens, explained and justified? Certainly, someone in the local law enforcement would have taken issue with Geronimo and Romanoski being given such leeway by Officer Pickett. 2) What was the fallout with Joe’s mother-in-law after the arrest of the governor? The reader would’ve lived to hear about her humiliation in the aftermath, seeing that we all despise her. Why not take a little more time and satisfy your readers’ curiousity?

Sensational Joe Pickett Story. Outstanding next read in the Joe Pickett series. Keeps you going, hard to put down, great western drama mystery.

Great local color, contrived plot. This book started out strongly but faltered midway through as the cast of characters and unbelievable plot contrivances multiplied. Given the rise of anti-Asian sentiment in this country, I found the introduction of the Chinese elements dismaying and unnecessary.

Meh. Talk about phoning it in… I’m going to paraphrase my parents, “If you don’t have anything good to write, don’t write”.

Storm Watch C.J. Box. Wyoming Game Warden Joe Pickett always does what he feels is the right thing to do. Sort of a Dudley do right. Very often it lands him in trouble but he always manages to clear himself of any wrong doing. Sometimes just barely.This story evolves around Chinese spies radical anti government characters and a host of other unsavory as well as good people. An excellent and entertaining read!! Enjoyed immensely!

Up all night read. One of his best!

Not up to par with earlier books. I’ve enjoyed a lot of CJ Boxes novels including the Joe Pickett series, but won’t be buying anymore. He needs to move on from these characters. At this point it’s like reading the Hardy Boys books. If you are new to the series go back and read the early novels which are very good before spending your money on the more recent titles.
