Love this book!. Great read…as always. Five stars for Foster!

Life is better with sweets. What a great story! I have always loved Penny and was hoping she would eventually find her forever love and get her own happily ever after, just like her friends, so I was extremely excited to read this book. The chemistry between these two is off the charts and on paper things look good, but Scott has some issues from his past that is affecting his view of where he sees the two of them going. I liked visiting Echo Beach, another fun place I would like to go and the surprise he gave Penny was above and beyond anything I could have imagined, and Penny was so deserving of the invitation. Once we are back from Echo Beach, it is time for the wedding. I really felt for Penny and Scott that things had seemed to come to a head right before the wedding and they had to keep their feelings to themselves. I always love this group of friends and family and how they are always rallying around whomever needs their help, reassurance, and support. No matter the timing, both Penny and Scott were both getting the reassurance and support that they needed. The wedding was beautiful and gorgeous. I am glad that Scott’s talk with his sisters helped him to clarify things better and I loved how this story ended. Can’t wait to see what happens next for Scott and Penny.

Wonderful novella. Penny and Scott have been dating for a while. Penny wants a family and can't get Scott to commit to more than just dating. Scott is afraid of to have a family because he was abused as a child by his father and thinks he'll be the same. He protected his sisters the best that he could from the abuse. Scott finally voices his fears to his sisters and they try to set him straight but will he see that he's nothing like his father? Penny is trying to be patient but finally decides that Scott won't ever commit to her and decides to break up with him. Will Scott see the light before it's too with Penny? I liked this story about Penny and Scott. I teared up at Scott's memories of being abused and trying to protect his sisters and losing track of them until they were grown. This is a short story but packed full of emotions.

Sweet quick read!. What a very sweet quick read! I loved Penny, her unconditional love for Scott, even with his past demons. She saw past all that to the amazing person he was underneath his scars. Whether you are a fan of the Whiskey family books or not, this is a must read for romance readers. But if you love the Whiskey family, then get this now! You definitely do not want to miss it!

Worth every cent. Melissa Foster provides us with a novella that is short and “sweet” but is packed with content. Penny has been in love with Scott for a while but he has had a troubled and abusive past and doesn’t seem to feel he deserves a future with Penny. Yet, Scott is full of action and grand gestures for his Sweet! Read this 5 star novella to see if Scott and Penny can have a happily ever after. Can’t get enough of Melissa Foster books and this series.....just makes my heart feel good.

In For A Penny.... Penny and Scott are the ultimate in opposites attract. Scott was raised in a home with parents that abused him and his sisters. He was riddled with guilt at not being able to protect his younger sisters, so much so he didn’t believe he deserved a HEA. Scott vowed to never have a family or a relationship for fear of becoming his father. Penny and her sister were lavished with love growing up. They never had to wonder where their next meal was coming from or what was going to set their dad off. They were LOVED! Penny knows Scott doesn’t want a family or a HEA, but her heart doesn’t believe him. Penny doesn’t want to change Scott as she loves him as is, but she can’t help but thinking he’s afraid. I loved that Penny and Scott worked for their HEA. Through counseling, Scott is able to work through some of his fears. It’s not easy, but necessary. Very realistic! I enjoyed how supportive Scott was with Penny’s ice cream business. I also enjoyed the “glimpses” of the Whiskey family as they come together to celebrate another marriage. I read a gifted copy and all opinions stated are my own.

Love can conquer all. A wonderful HEA novella that highlights Penny and Scott, while giving a glimpse into many other storylines in the series. Scott doesn’t believe he can ever overcome his abusive childhood and resists giving his heart away. Penny knows that love heals and is willing to prove it to Scott. Together they work to become better people through the positive power of love and a wonderful therapist.

🥹🥹. I should have known that not even a novella was safe from Heart wrenching tears. Scott and penny grew up in 2 completely opposite worlds. Penny had a loving happy family, Scott grew up in a verbally and physically abusive home. Penny and Scott have been dating for months, Penny is ready to move forward, though Scott still can’t change his mind about not deserving happiness. We don’t delve too deep into Scott’s past just touching on the surface and it’s heartbreaking. Will Scott be able to move forward with Penny towards a future or will he continue to stay stuck in the past. Such a great novella.

Emotional ride. All I keep thinking while reading this book was "Wishing on a Penny". It really meant wishing for Penny, but that was the thing running through my mind. She has worked so hard to become the person she is and to find love, but Scott is so resistant to marriage and children. It was breaking my heart. I understand why Scott is so resistant. I mean with what he grew up with so many scary thoughts have to be racing through his mind. Will I be like my father? I never had a good role model, how will I be able to be a husband and father? I want to keep everyone safe from the devil that could reside in me. But he has to learn to trust himself. He has to learn that yes, he may be capable of letting the devil free in him, but it's not in his nature. He's a protector. He's not going to willingly harm someone unless they harm someone he loves. Here's hoping that Penny and Scott can figure out the inner torment and find a way to make it work.

Scott and Penny. A super quick read that gives you all the goodness of a full length novel. Scott and Penny set the pages ablaze from page one. A few surprises along the way in this story, a dream come true and a heart that finally heals from a tortured past. The love overflows on all the pages even when there are times of uncertainty between the couple, their minds speak as one even with turmoil. We also get to catch up with all of our favorite Whiskey characters during Bones and Sarah's fairy tale wedding, which doesn't take away from Scott and Penny but adds beautiful depth to their HEA.

Sweet story!. Scott, Sarah and Josie's older brother and Penny, Finlay's sister and Quincy's best friend, have been dating for a while. Penny wants more but knows where Scott stands on commitment due to his horrible childhood. Prior to heading to Bones and Sarah's wedding, they confess their love for each other but it doesn't change Scott's feelings on commitment. While at the wedding, Penny is so overcome with emotion being around the love all her friends have found, that she knows her relationship with Scott has to end. While the wedding festivities continue, Scott realizes that their childhood has not kept his sisters from finding their HEA and he is not going to let it keep him from getting his HEA with Penny and a surprise she has yet to disclose.

So Good. It’s finally time for Bones and Sarah’s wedding, with weddings comes drama and Penny & Scott bring the DRAMA!! Plus there’s a surprise too. Penny and Scott are so cute and I was looking forward to getting to know them a little better. You are going to love this little update on all the couples in the Whiskeys and their big extended family.

Strength overflowing. Quick sweet read that will leave you feeling the love. Scott and Penny are regular figures in many books and so nice to see them get their own book. Scott has so much to give, but so much more to overcome. With the love and support of Penny, his sisters, and all their friends Scott knows what he has to do. This is a great story about overcoming things hat are holding you back. There is real strength in this book.

I love this whole Whisky Family!. Each book in this series is wonderful. I want their stories to go on and on. Incredible writing, makes you feel like you are wrapped up in their lives too. Hate it when I come to the end of each book.

Jammed packed novella. In For A Penny is a wonderful addition to Melissa Foster’s Whiskey series. This novella is jammed packed with emotions as a normal full length novel. I was looking forward to reading Scott’s story and was overwhelmed with emotions by this amazing story. I swooned, laughed, cried and fell in love with these amazing strong characters.

Have tissues handy!. In For A Penny is a short, emotionally packed story about a beautiful couple finding the courage to face their demons head on. The beautiful, sexy, sassy, and loving heroine in this story is Penny, owner of Lucious Licks in Peaceful Harbor. Penny is so full of life with such patience and courage to help her man fight the ugly demon of his childhood, abuse at the hands of his parents. While Penny’s childhood was the exact opposite of Scott’s. We first met Scott in Sarah (his sister) and Bones’ story, Wicked Whiskey Love. Scott has overcome a lot from his childhood and the accident when we first meet him. With the help of his sisters, Josie and Sarah, will Scott be able to finally allow Penny all the way into his heart? This story is so beautifully written with such strong characters, who are all just so amazing. Love this series and the author, Melissa Foster. Such a great way to spend a few hours escaping into the world of The Whiskeys

I LOVE this series!!. With each story it just keeps getting better. This story was fun, sexy and romantic. My heart went out to Penny for loving a man who didn’t have faith in himself. But, the way she handled it and was able to open Scott’s eyes to see things differently was inspiring. Couldn’t put it down!

Quick but awesome read!. In for a Penny is a novella in the Whiskey Series. I loved this book from page one. Penny Wilson and Scott Beckley made such a great couple. Loved their story so much. Even though this was a short read Melissa Foster did not disappoint. We got everything we needed out of this book. I love any chance to get to read a Whiskey book!! Well done 5++++++++

Short but perfect. I have been a fan of the Whiskeys and all the supporting characters. Penny is no different. She held a special place in my heart because of how she was with Quincy Gritt. Watching Penny and Scott build their friendship, then relationship from the auction on, has led to this amazing revelation with the two of them. There is so much that occurs in the short story, that I am don't even know what to say. When I read it, I messaged Melissa immediately with "that's it?!?!?!" Of course, I wanted more but it was such a great way to see Bones and Sarah get married.

Let Go of the Past. Reading about the Whiskey family and the Black Knights, means you are in for a great book and an emotional journey. The book, evolves around Scott’s past and his family abuse. Scott is afraid to risk happiness with Penny, who wants love and a family. Their journey is heartbreaking but they work their way through many issues and obstacles. This is a shorter, than usual, great book, plus you get the chance to reconnect with the Whiskey Family that we all love. Love this series!

Such a Sweet Story. Scott and Penny are such a sweet couple. Their story is the perfect mix of emotional, humorous, sexy adn heartwarming.

Scott and Penny for the win!. From the first chapter of In for a Penny the heat value goes from 0 to 60 in 2.2 seconds! Penny Wilson is a darling, fun heroine that cares for everyone. Since her and Quincy are besties their family and friends thought for sure they would end up together, but Penny has her eyes set on another prize worthy man. Now all she has to do is show him how worthy he is to her heart. Scott Beckley is as hot as smile on a warm sunny day. A man that any lady be lucky enough to call her own, the problem is after a turbulent past from his parents Scott doesn’t see himself as anyone’s dream guy. Can one special gal show him that he isn’t the man he thinks he is destined to be? Penny and Scott have so much chemistry, it’s a wonder the book didn’t go up in flames. I very fond of these characters from previous books in Melissa Foster’s book world. Penny is always sweet, she can make a friend on a dime. Scott even with his past is a man who anyone of us can be proud of. Can these two weather the storm that is approaching or will they lose the chance for real happiness and love? Melissa Foster I now have a new category for your books, Heart clinchers. LOL Tissue warning is definitely need for In for a Penny. It is as always fun to revisit the characters in your books. I truly enjoy the growth of each and every one. The plots details are amazing. There was a twist that I was not expecting which is always fun. Hearing about Scott, Sarah and Josie’s past through his eyes completely undid me. Another heart touching magnificent addition to my reading library. Rated 5 Stilettos and a Recommended Read by Deb!

Amazing. I need more than 5 stars for this one!!! Oh my. I couldn’t put it down; read it in less than 1/2 a day. Penny and Scott are amazing

So excited this couple gets their HEA!. So excited this couple gets their HEA! After getting to know Scott in the previous books involving his sisters, I was so excited that we would get to read about his HEA! Penny has become friends with Scott’s sisters in addition to her other friends and is seeing them all move on with their lives by getting married and having children and she’s not there yet. While she’s happy with Scott and their relationship, she feels like she’s the last one although she’s extremely happy in her relationship with him. Scott feels that because of his past, he is never destined to have a HEA and while he’s happy with Penny, he won’t ever take things further. Thankfully, fate intervenes and without giving anything away, this couple is able to work through their difficulties and get the HEA they deserve! Love this couple and I can’t wait for the next installment in this book world – can’t get enough! I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

All of the feels. You can never go wrong with a Melissa Foster romance as they always bring it all to the game. Chemistry, angst, dysfunctional pasts, doubts, fears, heart breaks, sadness and then they right your world with the kind of love you've always dreamed of. Loved Penny and Scott!❤❤❤❤❤

Enjoyable Quick Read!. We finally get to read Penny and Scott’s story! They get their HEA in this way too short story. I love Melissa’s books! Her characters are wonderful and you get sucked in and feel your part of the family! Enjoyable quick read!

Quick great read. What a great short read in the Whiskey series about two beloved characters – Penny and Scott. Their relationship was introduced in other Whiskey books but they got their own story here. Scott loves Penny but doesn’t believe he can do true forever commitment and Penny realizes as she watches all her friends get their forever commitment that this is exactly what she realizes she wants. Penny is ready to walk away from Scott if he can’t commit – can he overcome the demons of his past? The love of a good woman can make a world of difference on the future.

An emotional journey in the name of love!. Penny and Scott, two people that definitely belong together, but each wanting different things. They love each other with all their hearts but Scott’s tortured past is keeping them from having the future they want. It’s only a matter of time before things come to a head. Will Scott be able to get out of his own way in time to keep his girl? For a short little novella this story packs quite a punch, it’s emotional, heart felt and dramatic. it’s a story of conquering your fears in order to take a risk on life.

Beautiful love story. I loved this story…. it’s something we have all been waiting for and I’m so glad the story has finally arrived. Penny Wilson never knew she could feel like this for Scott, but after their first date it all changed. Scott Beckley has always felt he couldn’t let himself love someone fully as he was always waiting for that ‘ugly’ side to appear. Together they bring out the best in each other, when an unexpected surprise changes everything for them they need to make a decision which would make or break them. This is such a heart warming story and a perfect way to show Penny and Scotty’s relationship.

Loved it. We have heard about Penny and Scott in previous books so its nice to see that they have their own story along with Bones and Sarah's wedding. Its a great way to catch up with other characters from previous books to see how they are doing. Well worth the read thank you Melissa Foster.

A quick read for an afternoon escape!. I have slowly fallen in love Scott as I've read the Whiskey stories and have been patiently waiting for his own HEA. Scott, along with his sister Sarah, suffered abuse at the hands of their parents while protecting their younger sister Josie. As a result he didn't think he had anything to give someone, but then along came Penny. This is such a beautiful story following Scott as he learns that he is worthy and capable to being that person for someone. There is the added bonus that the book also includes the wedding of Sarah and Bones, so we get to catch up with all the Whiskeys and Dark Knights. If you need a quick read for an afternoon escape, look no further and enjoy!

Loved this. Loved Scott and Penny’s story! They have so much chemistry between them and are so in love with each othet they just had to find a way to tell each other and take it to the next level. We also got to see Sarah and Bones finally get their happioly ever after. Truly heartwarming with all my Peaceful Harbor favorite people.

I always love spending time with The Whiskeys and Bones and Sarah's wedding was a great way to return to Peaceful Harbor. Scott and Penny were definitely hot and steamy together. I really felt for Scott and all the demons he is fighting because of his past but was so happy that he found Penny who was the one able to bring the sweetness he needed to bury the worries of his past. It was great to see the rest of the Whiskey clan and Kennedy is still so adorable. I can not wait for more from Melissa Foster and The Whiskeys in the future.
