Roman by Sawyer Bennett Book Summary

USA TODAY BESTSELLER • New York Times bestselling author Sawyer Bennett steams up the ice all over again as the Carolina Cold Fury hockey team’s hottest bad boy gets his first taste of something good.

In a league full of troublemakers, Cold Fury defenseman Roman Sýkora stands out—at least when it comes to negative publicity. When he’s not chilling in the penalty box, the sizzling Czech skate demon is racking up tabloid headlines for his scandalous behavior with the ladies. But now Roman’s feeling the burn from management to clean up his act, or else. Luckily he’s got an enticing distraction: a fun-loving barista who plays the ukulele and brings out a side of Roman he didn’t know he had.

Lexi Robertson came to Raleigh, North Carolina, to finally meet her father, Brian Brannon, and her half sister, Gray, both of whom work in the Cold Fury’s front office. That’s where she first meets sexy, intimidating Roman—who’s really a big softie at heart. As one relationship takes off, another begins: Brian seems to be clicking with Lexi’s boss at the coffee shop. But when the friction between Roman and her new family heats up, Lexi wonders whether she’s a pawn in their game. Feeling hurt and foolish, Lexi’s ready to quit while she’s ahead. Trouble is, Roman’s not ready to quit on her.

Enjoyed it. Loved the characters

Roman. Sawyer Bennett delivers again! Cold Fury series is one of her best in my opinion! Never want it to end. I really enjoyed this book! Made me laugh AND made me cry! The development of these characters is phenomenal! Keep these stories coming!

Roman. I am always looking for Sawyer's stories. This is one of her genres. She has a good way of bringing her story lines and characters together. She has hit another Cold Fury book! Roman Sykora is a defenseman for the Cold Fury hockey team. He is a rough player but then hockey is a rough game. Gray Brannon is their Manager and she is steaming because he won't play her way. He is steaming because he needs to play the way he needs to. Now add a surprise when Lexi turns up telling Brian he is her father. Major Spoiler. Is she or not? Will she go out when she meets Roman or follow Gray who says to stay away from him? Spoiler. I liked this story. I like hockey. There is graphic sex in this story. Check it out to see if you are ok to read it. Enjoy your reading! I volunteered to read and review this book.

If Relationships Were Easy.... OMG!!!! I loved this novel! Lexi is a carefree, fun-loving, ukulele-playing, young woman who wants nothing more than to get to know her family. Her mom, who passed away of cancer 10mths ago, informed Lexi that her dad was Brian Brannon--CEO of Cold Fury. Lexi's mom had kept this secret from her and her father. So Lexi studies the team, her dad, and Gray so she'll be familiar with them when she meets them. Lexi sets up a meeting with Brian to let him know and to offer a DNA test. Gray, having been an only child and the sole object of her dad's affection is less than welcoming. She's not willing to include Lexi into the family until the results are back. However, she is willing to get to know her possible sister. Along the way, Lexi catches the eye of Cold Fury's "bad boy". Roman wants Lexi, but senses she's "different" so he's willing to take things at her pace. Roman also doesn't get along with Gray. Gray's the GM of Cold Fury and Roman's latest bad boy ways have him in the doghouse with Gray. She uses her position and her "new" relationship with her sister to draw a wedge between Lexi and Roman. While trying to please everyone, Lexi comes to the realization that she's not happy without Roman, so she tells Gray she's going to date him anyway because she has to follow her heart. During Lexi's birthday celebration, Roman and Gray get into an argument where Gray threatens to trade him. Lexi overhears them tearing each other apart, so she leaves her party. She tells her dad to let Roman and Gray know they are not to contact her until they work it out....Later that night, Lexi is hit by a drunk driver. Gray calls Roman to let him know about the wreck. When he arrives at the hospital, he's afraid he may never be able to make it right. Can he and Gray set aside their differences to make Lexi happy? I loved how quirky and funny Lexi was. I liked how Roman saw Lexi for who she really was. I loved that Roman didn't try to take over Lexi's life, pay for things, etc. I truly appreciated Georgia and Lexi's mother-daughter relationship, even though they weren't related by blood. Then Georgia and Brian's relationship.....too funny! This novel ends with a HEA and no cliffhanger! I read a gifted copy of this novel and all opinions stated are my own.

Another Cold Fury winner from Sawyer Bennett. First of all, this cover.....Yum! Secondly....Cold Fury hockey....Winner! I just adore this series. Each player has been fun in their own way and you would think that by the 7th book, things would get repetitive, but Sawyer Bennett has a way with her storytelling that makes each player's story unique. Roman Sykora has been on his own really since he left the Czech Republic to play hockey at the age of thirteen. His parents were too much into themselves to care all that much. Roman plays by his rules and doesn't care about any fallout as long as it makes him happy. He has never had a serious relationship and is known more as a player. Of course this doesn't sit too well with his boss, Gray Brannon. When Roman is summoned to Gray's office he sees this cute, quirky female waiting in the waiting room. She is not his normal type, but he is very intrigued. Enter Lexi Robertson. Lexi Robertson happens to be Gray Brannon's half-sister and Brian Brannon, Cold Fury Hockey CEO's daughter. Quickly these two just sizzle. As Roman spends more time with Lexi he starts to realize he really likes this fun-loving barista who plays the ukulele. As Lexi is trying to fit into her new family, friction continues between Gray and Roman. It was fun seeing Gray's protective big-sister act come into play. Lexi longs to be part of family again while Roman wants nothing to do with a family since he never really had one. Their relationship is really put through a test but it was worth it in the end when they finally got to their happy ending. A secondary story line was with Brian Brannon and Lexi's boss, Georgia Mack. I just adored this fun story. They are both great together and brought some fun, laugh out loud moments. Another Cold Fury winner from Sawyer Bennett!

flat out fun. Roman is known as a bad boy with a rep that is difficult to dissuade with all the negative press he’s been getting. That press has caused some waves with the management, Grey Brannon, of the Cold Fury Hockey Team. Lexi has been working in a local bar, getting up the nerve to meet her biological father, Brian Brannon, which happens to be the owner of the Cold Fury Hockey Team. She doesn’t want anything from him, just wants to make that family connect. Brian didn’t know he had another daughter so it comes as quite a bit of a shock to both Brian and his daughter Gray (Lexi’s ½ sister). Lexi and Roman hit it off right away but her relationship with Roman causes waves with her trying to build a relationship between herself and her sister. Roman is a flat out fun, sweet and endearing, everything you want in a contemporary sports romance. From the start, I was hooked and Bennett kept me completely invested till then end. I received this ARC copy of Roman from Random House Publishing Group - Loveswept in exchange for a honest and voluntary review.

Engaging & Enthralling. Loved , Loved this engaging as well as enthralling sports romance that has so much more going for it than a regular sports romance. Sawyer Bennett sure knows how to bring it with a cast of characters that are so relatable and made for each other as well as each story in this series is better than the last. Loved the triple POV in this story it was brilliant. The romance is fresh and different but always heartwarming because these men are all about their women. Loved Lexi Robertson who has come to Raleigh North Carolina to meet her father and half sister but along the way meets Roman Sykora. Loved Lexi’s with her quirky, laid back yet charming personality along with her ukulele playing. Loved cocky, Roman that he was so intrigued by Lexi that his playboy, bad boy ways were immediately a thing of the past. But I really loved that we were gifted with two Love stories in this story. Loved seeing Lexi’s father get swept off his feet by her boss, and mother figure Georgia, with her sexy, sassy, straight shooting southern, gal demanding ways. Sawyer Bennett writing is engaging, enthralling and she also gave us pages of delicious sexiness as well as a story that was her most romantic yet. I laughed, I cried, and I fell in love and was utterly giddy, smiling like a young school girl in love. Finding Love and a new family with a lot of Hotness was a winner or goal. Couldn’t put it down and read this in one sitting. Loved it! Highly recommended! I voluntarily requested an ARC of this book through NetGalley and agreed to post a honest review.

SpicedProNicely. Beautiful woman I you

Roman. Just can't say enough about Sawyer Bennett's writing and The Carolina Cold Fury series. Roman is a handsome, alpha, womanizer, trouble making, hockey player. All that changes when he meets the beautiful, free spirited Lizzie. Of course nothing is simple so these two must navigate his career and her new found family. But at heart it is a beautiful love story that packs some heat! I love the way Sawyer brings people, I mean characters from other Cold Fury books to this one and they have major roles in this story. You'll see and you will love it and this couple.

Roman. Absolutely loved it!!! Two HEA's are even better than one! Let me start off by saying that this cover, this is without a doubt, Roman. Great job with that Sawyer! These Cold Fury boys just keep getting better and better and Sawyer Bennett never disappoints. I fall so hard for each one of them. Every. Single. Time. I am sure that is her intent and believe me, no complaints here, so well done Sawyer! I enjoyed this storyline so much. As usual all of the characters are so well developed I feel like I know them. I also enjoyed the secondary storyline equally as much. I adore this couple! Roman and Lexi are perfect together! I get so excited when the heroine is as awesome if not more so than the hero! This seems to be the case for all of our Cold Fury heroines so far. Roman is truly a bad boy; a troublemaker both on and off the ice, until Lexi. Well also until Gray, the team GM, tells him he basically needs to shape up or ship out. He just happens to meet Lexi in the office right before Gray tells him that. She is there to see Brian, Gray's dad, to let him know that he is actually her dad too. Love where the story goes with this. In fact, as a treat, we get a third POV on this one, Brian's. That was great! I really liked that we got the insight into his character and a whole other side story. Roman is a bit different on the inside, which we get to see as he lets his guard down while he and Lexi get to know each other and we in turn get to know them. It was quite refreshing to have them develop a friendship while flirting and tossing around the innuendos. You could see the sparks flying even then. Even though they clearly have some serious chemistry, he wants to go slow and get to know her because you know that he can see she is special. He can be so sweet, caring and passionate. I love that side of him as much as I love his tough guy on the ice one. Lexi is very sweet and passionate while being unique and quirky which is what I love about our ukulele playing heroine. She can also hold her own with anyone. She is exactly what Roman needs. As their story unfolds I fell in love with both of them and Gray & Ryker again as well as Brian & Georgia. So many wonderful feelings. Fantastic addition to the Carolina Cold Fury series!!! Bring on the rest of the team!!!!

Loved Roman & Lexi!. I love sports romance, but hockey romance is by far my favorite! I now have read all seven of these fabulous Carolina Cold Fury Hockey romances and I have loved them all for different reasons. They all have different types of twists to each of them. Now I have a new favorite, Roman! I loved it and flew through the pages! I am not going to rehash the story for you as the synopsis gives you a good set up of what the book is about. There is drama. there are steamy love scenes between Lexi and Roman, but it is a slow build with lots of flirting and innuendos and they are so sweet together. It is wonderful to see how their growing infatuation turns into a deep caring relationship. The new twist to this book is there is a concurrent love story developing between Brian Brannon (Lexi’s father that she recently found out about from her dying mother) and Lexi’s free spirited boss Georgia! Let’s just say Georgia really knew how to loosen up that stuck-up suit! Another twist is the family dynamics between Brian, Lexi and her half-sister, Gray. Gray had a hard time adjusting to the idea of sharing her father (Brian). Gray, as general manager of the Cold Fury, had issues with Roman and his personal and professional trouble making ways. Roman didn’t like her management style, so they agreed to disagree and their disdain for one another put Lexi in a bad position; choose between her new family or the man she was falling in love with. If you love sports romance that has a bit of drama, fun banter, steamy scenes, touching moments, and crazy secondary characters, then give this book a try. You won’t regret it!

Oh, Roman.. I have to be honest. It took me most of the book to decide if I liked Roman or not. I loved Lexi from the beginning and I saw glimpses of a guy I could like in Roman, but I didn't fall until almost the end. Then I was mush. I loved seeing the character progressions, and the unfolding of the story. The surprise POV was brilliant and the epilogue had me in a puddle of goo!

I've been waiting for this book forever!. I've been waiting for this book forever! As much as I love this series, Roman was definitely not my favorite.....Zack still holds that place with Max as a close 2nd. It's still an engaging story and I loved Lexi! As the heroine, she was so honest and steady..........not prone to misunderstandings and with a very forgiving nature. This book was a bit different because not only did Ms Sawyer write about Lexi and Roman, it was also about Brian(Lexi's dad) and Georgia. This is a part of. the book I had a bit of a problem with.....due to Georgia's attitude. I get she is n independent free spirit but she was annoying. She kept saying the Brian was a stick in the mud and accused him of having a stick up his butt..........which was a huge disservice to Brian. He has never been portrayed as such..........he' loves Gray and his possible daughter Lexi unconditionally and alway gives the advice to give love a chance. This is not characteristic of someone who is not open to change and love. I also just found Georgia a bit too much in your face. Another part of the book I couldn't come to terms with is how Gray was portrayed. In Ryker, she is portrayed as a brilliant GM, fair, steady with a big heart. In this book she is portrayed as a hot emotional mess, petulant, and vindictive. Part of the reason being is that she is pregnant. Yes , hormones do run a bit rampant during pregnancy BUT a total personality change does not happen. A lot of pregnant women work through their pregnancy making important decisions and taking care of their families without becoming a hormonal mess. Overall though the romance between Lexie and Roman was very sweet.....she was very patient with him and his issues. I felt for Roman and his sterile upbringing........one could see how hard it was for him to connect to people when he never had that growing up.

Cold Fury!. Hello another great one! It just pulled you in. 😍

Love. I loved this book. I think it's my favorite in this series. I'm sad that I finished it. Can't wait for the next one.

Another good Cold Fury book. Roman is another good book in the Cold Fury series. Roman is a balls to the wall hockey player who gives 110% to the sport. He doesn't have anything else in his life and lives for the game. He doesn't have the greatest reputation and is often in trouble with management. When he meets Lexie, he never thought he'd want more than a night with her, but she stole his heart when he wasn't looking. Lexie has come to town to find the family she didn't know about until recently. She is proud of who she is and what she has accomplished on her own. Roman and her new family can't help but to fall in love with her. This was a really good read and it was fun to watch Roman figure out what a real relationship is. For someone who hasn't had to or wanted to make time for others, it was fun to watch him as he wanted desperately to make Lexie happy and couldn't get enough of her. This was a good read. I loved catching up with some of the others that we've met throughout the series as well. Good read.

WOW!!!! ANOTHER BOOK FOR TEAM FURY. Da…rn Woman….. Keep those Cold Fury books coming!!! WHAT A BOOK. I love this series!!! Each and every book in this series, about the Cold Fury team gets better and better. My top three books/players are Max, Ryker and now, I have added Roman to my favorites. I love a “Bad Boy” that is not as bad as he and everybody else thinks he is. Roman Sykora really has a heart of gold. It just took the right woman, Lexi Robertson. Roman met Lexi at the Cold Fury offices, and from the very first site, knew there was something about her. There is just one problem… she is the, sister of the General Manager, Gray Brannon who happens to hate Roman, and the daughter of the team owner, Brian Brannon. Lexi returns home to take care of her mom while she loses the battle against cancer. During this time, her mom tells her the story about her father, Brian Brannon and how much she loved him. However, before she knew she was pregnant, he had broken things off. He was still too much in love with his late wife. She never told him she was pregnant. Now, Lexi has come to the Cold Fury office introduce herself to the father she never knew, where she sees Roman for the first time. I loved watching these two fall in love, but is she ready to stand between Roman and her family? I think so, and you need to read this book to find out how she does it. My heart was in my throat when Lexi leaves her birthday dinner when…. STOP, no spoilers from me, but let me say this, I love when Brian pulls no punches… oops, I said no spoilers. Thank you, Sawyer Bennett for writing such incredible books. Thank you, Random House Publishing - Loveswept for publishing this phenomenal series. I was gifted with an ARC of this spectacular book for my honest opinion. Thank you for reading my review. Now do yourself a favor and go purchase this book Da…rn Woman….. Charming!. I was given an advanced copy of this book to write an honest review for Netgalley and Cocktails and Books. ROMAN is the seventh book in the Cold Fury hockey series. Each book in the series is a standalone, although all the characters are interconnected. This is a charming story about Roman Sykora, the enforcer for the Cold Fury hockey team. He is the bad boy on the team and his antics keep getting him into trouble. Lexi Robertson and Roman meet at the Cold Fury offices. Lexi is there to introduce herself to her newfound father. She is surprised when her dying mother tells her she is the daughter of Brian, owner of the Cold Fury. Brian is surprised and excited to discover Lexi is his daughter. He is wonderful and welcomes Lexi into his family but his only daughter Gray, has a difficult time accepting Lexi. I enjoyed this sweet story and all the characters. Roman and Lexi make a great couple and bring out the best in each other. Roman has never been in a relationship before, so it takes him a while to figure out how to be a boyfriend. I love how he tries to be a good boyfriend, even though he makes a few mistakes along the way. He is dedicated to Lexi and treats her well and is always sweet to her. Lexi is a free spirit. She is carefree and fun and people naturally gravitate to her. She has a soothing effect on Roman. She teaches him how to enjoy life. This touching story pulled at my heartstrings.

Fantastic. Another home run (or should that be goal??) in the Cold Fury series from Ms. Bennett. Roman is a little bit cocky, a bit of a troublemaker, and a whole lot of yummy. Being called to the GM's office isn't anything new for Roman. Being the teams enforcer has landed him in trouble more than once. This time though while waiting to be called in he meets the most interesting woman he's met in a long time. Lexi Robertson is definitely a woman he wants to know better. Will she give him a chance when her newly found sister fills her in on his reputation?? Trust me you want to find out. I highly recommend you grab a copy of this one.
