I Think I Love You by Lauren Layne Book Summary

USA TODAY BESTSELLER • A game of seduction between two best friends goes deliciously wrong in an irresistible Oxford Novel that brims with wit and sexual tension. Library Journal hails Layne’s work as “exemplary contemporary romance.”

Brit Robbins knows that dating in New York City is hard—she just hoped to have it mastered by age thirty. But after yet another promising suitor says they have no sparks, Brit decides it’s time to torch her dating game and try a new plan. And who better to coach Brit through the art of seduction than the guy who first gave her the “let’s be friends” card?

Hunter Cross has always figured there’s nothing his best friend Brit can do to surprise him. But Brit’s request is a surprise he doesn’t see coming—and one he’s definitely not prepared for. Hunter and Brit have always been careful to keep things perfectly platonic, but the fake dates and faux flirting are starting to feel like the real deal. And soon Hunter realizes he has taught Brit too well. Not only has she become an expert at seduction, the man becoming thoroughly seduced is him.

Super cute funny read, with steam!. *ARC of, I Think I Love You, was provided by the publisher via NetGalley for an honest review, no compensation was given.* One forever friend zoned girl ✅ One serial dater ✅ Two best friends ✅ A group of crazy friends ✅ What happens when you put all those together, a disaster in the making or the perfect HEA? I Think I love You is an adorable friends to lovers romantic comedy that drew me in from the first page. Brit and Hunter have been best friends for six years, Brit can't understand why she can't seem to keep a guy interested past the third date. So she asks her BFF, Hunter, to teach her the art of seduction. Hunter reluctantly agrees to help her and that's when all the fun begins. I really enjoyed the witty banner between these two characters, and how they navigated, each in their own way, their new found romance. This is the first book I have read in this series and this book definitely makes me want to read the entire series. I whole heartedly recommend this book.

Boring. Love this author and always recommend her. But sad to say this book was so boring and predictable that I couldn’t even finish it.

I know I loved This!. I was totally swept away with this friends to lovers story. This was so sexy, so hot, and so sweet, I couldn’t put it down. Lauren Layne brings it once again. Filled with sexy, flirty, and witty banter and innuendo that will make your heart flutter, leave you breathless and loving every word. And that is why for me, Lauren Layne’s books are a automatic purchase. Britt Robbins is tired of being, single. Her last three boyfriends had all gave her the talk, telling her that she was a great girl, but they just weren’t feeling it. What was wrong with her, guys never saw her as girlfriend material, she was always in the perpetual friend zone. What was she lacking, or missing? She needed a plan, she needed to make guys start seeing her as a woman rather than just a friend. Britt needed a lesson in the art of seduction. And she knew exactly who could help her, Hunter Cross her best friend. Poor Hunter, his feelings for Britt has always been platonic, but he wasn’t stupid. He just doesn’t get why, any guy wouldn’t see that they were lucky to have a girl like Britt. But when she ropes him in to help her work on her “A” game he soon finds himself, seeing Britt, in a whole new light. Britt is awesome with her next door, girl charm as she finds out her sexy Hunter is really a sweetheart and seeing him fight his feelings for his best friend is touching and emotional. And when they are together they are hot, hot, hot! But what happens, when Hunter must return home, to run the family company? You have got to read this to find out. I absolutely loved this book, not only did we see Brit and Hunter’s story, but I also got to connect with all the other Stiletto and Oxford couples as they make appearances throughout the story and see where they are in their lives. And it was great to see that they are all, still very much in love. It was the perfect conclusion to these series, it was like going home again. (sigh) Beautiful Story! Happy Reading Everyone! I voluntarily read and reviewed, an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I Know I Love It!!. I've only read one other book in the Oxford series but reading the final book has me moving the rest of the series to the top of my TBR. I love a good friends to lovers story and I feel like everyone has felt like Brit at one time or another. Why am I constantly getting friend-zoned? Why don't I feel a spark with anyone even though I go on regular enough dates? Good for Brit that her male BFF can give her advice about how to be right? I loved everything about the lessons that Hunter and Brit had. This book had just the right amount of angst that kept me reading until I was bleary eyed and exhausted. The ending made me want to read all about the Stiletto and Oxford crews as soon as possible! I'm sure once I've read the books before this one, I'll be super sad that this is the end of the Oxford series. *This is my voluntary review of an advanced reader copy*

Another perfect romance from Ms Layne. Hunter and Brit’s story has been long awaited, but with that, also meant the Oxford series coming to an end...and that is bittersweet. With each couple in the series making an appearance here it felt like visiting with old friends. I was thrilled when “I Think I Love You" came out, this couple has been on my radar for their own story for some time. With Hunter and Brit there was a vulnerability that truly tore at my heartstrings...with the emotional attachment that has formed over time with these two, their journey was joyous and rewarding in their finally having their own HEA...especially when all their friends had already found their own. You just knew Hunter and Brit would have their own happy ending, but when it finally came about, I'm embarrassed to say, I gave a joyous Whoop Whoop with a raised fist. Thank you Ms Layne for providing a host of friends who brought endless hours of heartfelt joy, emotional tugs at the heartstrings, and many many instances of hilarious entertainment. You've created characters who are larger than life and will be long remembered. This ARC book was complimentary, provided by the Publisher and NetGalley. I am voluntarily providing my honest review.

Favorite writer of all time. This series and the stiletto series are my favorite romance novels that I have ever read! Love how unique they are and how well written. Re read them often and I can’t do that with any other series. Love them!

Awesome Friends to Lovers story. I haven't read the other books in this series - I don't think - so there were some things I missed out on but not much. It definitely makes me want to go back and read books 1-4! I love a good friends to lovers romance! It's almost inevitable when one is needing help or advice - or lessons in this case - that one falls for the other or they both fall mutually. Plus I loved the way all their friends - and coworkers - seem to get involved because they are one big happy friend family. Even though they work together. Definitely need to go read the other books in the series! This can be a standalone but I think it's more helpful to have read the other books in the series first.

Not worth the read. This book was just depressing. The title I Think I Love You says it all. There was no spark and the characters just fell into this blah friends with benefits relationship. The dance these two characters make between friendship and romance was lame. The love scenes felt trite and fell flat. Not worth the read.

I know I love Lauren Layne’s books. Knowing that this is the final book of Lauren Layne's Oxford series, I went into it feeling nostalgic, excited, and a bit sad. I have loved these characters. I have enjoyed every minute of time I spent with them. And I will miss them terribly. I think it's fitting that Lauren Layne concludes with Hunter and Brit's story. We've seen flashes of them throughout the series, and we knew--as did their friends and co-workers--that there was more to this whole "we're just best friends" thing, even if they had no clue. Fortunately, the clue hits them big time and in the most delightful, fulfilling way. It starts as a favor: Brit wants Hunter to help her become more appealing to men. What neither anticipates is that she will become more appealing to HIM, and vice-versa. My favorite moments in this book were the little ones as Hunter and Brit discovered that they might just love each other romantically: the way he notices how she looks in jeans, the way she reacts when he touches the small of her back. FABULOUS. Not that anything will come easily to them. Lauren Layne sets up their inevitable conflict, going in a direction that is neither predictable nor hackneyed. This shows respect for her story and her characters. I enjoyed how she incorporated characters from other books in the series, whether as friends, bosses, or a Greek chorus of sorts. They help Hunter and Brit understand how they feel about each other and the problems they face, and they help them figure out what to do about it. The epilogue is bittersweet, and you can sense that it is for Lauren Layne, too. These two series and their characters have brought us joy, broken our hearts, and delivered the quiver. They have been our friends, and for that, I am quite grateful.

Fabulous friends to lovers romance. Lauren Layne's I Think I Love you, the last book in the Oxford series was an absolute delight. I'm just sorry I didn't find this series earlier. Though the book reads well as a stand alone all the secondary characters/couples were so interesting I want to know more about them. Brit and Hunter made excellent friends but I loved watching as things shifted and they started to be aware of their attraction. It was a fun sexy ride to their HEA. I highly recommend this book. I received an advance reader copy from Netgalley.
