Awful book. I have read several of K L Slater’s books and they were pretty good. However this one was painful to get through. It was boring and a slow read. If I could give it a zero I would.

The secret. Hard to keep up with the bouncing back and forth in time. Why not put all the past together then go into the present. Stopped reading 2/3 through story. Read last chapter & didn’t feel l missed much.

The secret. Pretty good, but no action until the end. The story is told by going back and forth between characters in the first person and also in and out of different time periods. By about halfway though it gets easier to follow cuz you are finally used to that. Overall the story ends up being interesting but it drags.

Enjoyed!!!!. My Review: What I love the most about this author is that you can never go wrong when you pick up one of her books. I am a few books shy of reading all of her books ever written and want to say that I have absolutely loved them all. There was not one single bad one in the bunch. Yes, some of them were better than others but all in all they were all so wonderful. I started reading this author many years with her second book Blink. I had no idea then on how much I would fall in love this author writings. She is definitely in my Top 10 Favorite Author List and is the Queen of Suspense in my opinion. I can’t wait to read more by this author. Thank you KL Slater for writing so many great books. In conclusion, the plot, the characters and all the twists in this book made this book an enjoyable read. I would definitely recommend it and happily give it 4 Hearts❤️❤️❤️❤️

The secret. OMG! What a book, had me gripped from a couple of chapters in, great story, full of unexpected twists and turns 5*

What a read!. First time I’ve picked a KL Slater novel and my goodness, what a read! Wow. So brilliantly written and the twists and turns it took were fantastic. Didn’t see any of it coming. Highly recommend this book. I’m now a big fan of the author and cannot wait to read more of her work.

Really exciting read could not put this book down. The writer keeps you engrossed in this story from the beginning to the last chapter I really enjoyed reading this.

Loved it. I seriously cannot believe I waited this long to read a book by this author. What was I thinking. Super happy to see she has other books released that I can get stuck into. This story is told through the point of view of two sisters Alice and Louise. Two completely different sisters. Alice has her life destroyed after an accident and suffers bad anxiety. Louise is a control freak. When Alice agrees to take care of Louise's son Archie she realises there is something worrying Archie that has him withdrawn and quiet. While reading this I kept trying to think ahead. I realised I needed to stop doing that and just read. It's a really well written psychological story that even while I wasn't reading I was thinking about it. Can't wait to read more from this author.

Wow. I found this book a bit slow at first compared to all the others but you know what? As usual I was blown away with the story. This author never fails to keep me entertained and guessing until the very end. Thank you!

The Secret. Oh my gosh! Oh my gosh! Oh my gosh! I have never heard of this author. I just happened to be browsing for a new book to read, when I came across a lot of positive reviews and 5 star ratings for this one. Right from the beginning, I was gripped. This book had a hold on me. I couldn’t wait to go to bed at night so that I could carry on reading. When I got out of bed in the mornings, I couldn’t wait for the day to be over so that I could go back to bed again and resume reading from where I’d left off. I was tense whilst reading ... the pressure, the expectations, the twists, the imagery in my head, the whole clever plot! WOW! The way the characters were all linked and involved in such close proximity. I’m so happy to have found you, Ms K L Slater. I’m looking at your other titles right now and am so spoiled for choice. Which book should I choose next? Hmmmmm..... Thank you Lorraine ....

Long winded. After reading the reviews for this book I was looking forward to reading it but actually found it disappointing. Half the book was just taken up with setting the stories of the various characters. Only got to the actual plot at the end which fell a bit flat. Suspected who the ‘boyfriend’ might be half way through so it wasn’t much of a shock. The only twist was the boys second secret when it was revealed.p

The secret. Very slow. I ended up skimming the chapters. A very dull storyline with a limp ending.

Disappointing. The story lacked substance, there were some bits that started to get interesting but it flitted from one thing to the next without a proper ending. I actually had to check I’d downloaded the full book as it ended so suddenly and without tying anything up at all. This is my first book by this author and I’m afraid the last.

Fantastic and gripping, complete page turner!. Slightly slow to start but stick with it. The story unfolds and leaves you shocked with the conclusion. Enjoy!

Ends suddenly. Great great lead up!! Could have gone either way! But instead, it just ends? Like the author was told “your due date for the end result is here, hand it over” and they panicked and cut the story short. It’s such a good story, I’m disappointed it ended how it did, happy ending and all.
