Open Carry by Marc Cameron Book Summary

From New York Times bestselling author Marc Cameron,a thrill ride into the savage beauty of Alaska – where the wilderness is deadlier than any killer and a Tlingit girl's cold case murder makes even US Marshal Arliss Cutter’s blood run cold.

"Cameron’s novels hook you from the first line, cement your eyes to the page, and grip your heart in a vice. I can’t think of another writer whose work I admire more." —WILLIAM KENT KRUEGER

"A double-barreled blast of action, narrative, and impossible-to-fake authenticity.” —CJ BOX

U.S. Marshal Arliss Cutter is a born tracker. Raised in the Florida swamplands, he honed his skills in the military, fought in the Middle East, and worked three field positions for Marshal Services. When it comes to tracking someone down—or taking someone out—Cutter’s the best. But his newest assignment is taking him out of his comfort zone to southeast Alaska. Cold, dark, uninhabited forests often shrouded in fog. And it’s the kind of case that makes his blood run cold . . . the shocking murder of a Tlingit Native girl.

But the murder is just the beginning. Now, three people have disappeared on Prince of Wales Island. Two are crew members of the reality TV show, Fishwives. Cutter’s job is to find the bodies, examine the crew’s footage for clues, and track down the men who killed them. But it won’t be easy, because the whole town is hiding secrets, every trail is a dead end—and the hunter becomes the hunted...

“Looking for authentic action, suspense, drama, and mystery? Look no further than U.S. Marshals Service veteran Marc Cameron whose thrillers capture the visceral nature of life in the trenches as only one who has lived it truly can.”—JACK CARR

“Cameron’s books are riveting page-turners.” —MARK GREANEY

Open Carry. Great geographical change of pace. Fast paced. I had to put on an extra blanket after reading this one.

Cutter. Good book. Looking forward to reading the next.

Great read. Great storyline. Great characters. It kept me coming back until I made it to the end. My goal is to read 5 minutes a day. I zoomed past it trying to get it read. Could easily be turned into a movie.

Great start to the series. Hopefully this book is just the beginning of a great trip thru Arliss Cutter’s life as a U. S. Marshall. Had trouble putting it down and could hardly wait to pick it up again. Read it while on vacation in Hawaii, so could understand the conditions in Alaska.

Open Carry. A really good thriller. We’ll written.

Agatha. Agatha would have been proud of this! Great characters & a challenge to find the “bad guy”. I’m a “spook”girl favoring spies. Big surprise...this guy can write up a storm.

Just ok. Nothing bad to say, but just didn’t get blown away by it

Wondrously vivid storytelling. Outstanding character development. Impressive storyline. Cameron’s gift in describing the location and scenery, as well as the action in vividly accurate detail makes this this a pleasure to read.

Beleiveable. I had been looking for a new series to read. This book was a good start. The characters were all believe able and the author was very good about details. Starting the second one now.

Riveting. Intriguing character in Arliss Cutter. Makes me anxious to continue the series

Open Carry. Nice read!

Most excellent story and terrific characters. This author is as good as any at the top Jack Reacher style main character, slow to anger but an all out assault kind of guy when the occasion calls for it. A “ right is right” type of guy. I’d read it again but there is a follow up book, so....

Great start for me. Very good first read of this author. Plenty good to move on to his next. Thank you for the relief from CIA infiltration and mahem style books i have been reading by the same old same old…..

Open Carry. I relly loved this book. Excellent character development, details, plot line is extreamly well developed adn brpought to a very exciting, believeable conclusion nd closure. vI’m giving the book to a friend awith the thought that we should go to Alaska for a visit and tour of the out back.

New series. New author for me. Enjoyed it. Started a little slow as things developed but liked it as it progressed. I may have just found a new series.

Fascinating. Likable, interesting characters doing noble work.
