Local Woman Missing. I had read and enjoyed some of her other books but this one was deviant…disgusting, sick.

Great read. Great book, was not a typical ending. A little slow at the start. Great read overall.

Very fast-paced and plot twists my god!!. Mary Kubica has done herself good on this one! Though the beginning was dragging a bit, but the rest of the story was so good! I especially love Leo’s character throughout the book and how it’s unfair people treated him, including Josh. But through it all, an AWESOME book!!

50/50. I have mixed feelings about this book. The writing is great, the story kept me engaged and wanting to read until the very end. That said, the ending was a little unbelievable. Actually, more than a little unbelievable. Maybe if some small clues were dropped along the way, I would have bought into it a little more. Nothing revealing but just enough to raise a little suspicion. Other than the ending, I enjoyed it.

A little predictable. I liked the book however, I guessed who the culprit was pretty early on and that’s the reason I gave it 4 stars. Overall though, it was a good and easy read and did keep me engaged throughout the entire book.

From the very first page. I couldn’t stop reading. This one was steadily good from the very beginning, only until the very end did I even expect a plot twist and oh boy was there one! Such a good read.

Local Woman Missing. This is,by far, the worst book I have ever read. The beginning sucked me in, a child in captivity, but a hint she will be found. The book then turns into droning conversations of the people involved from a perspective of eleven years earlier, all their thoughts and boring, ridiculous, mindless chatter - of which could have been avoided if the characters were capable of being honest. I skimmed through pages searching for the parts concerning the captive child, Delilah. She does finally escape and is taken back to her family, only she is not that family’s missing child. The book goes on to tell the truth of what happened eleven years ago and it is so unbelievable as to border on the ridiculous. The missing girl is found in the neighbor’s attic unharmed and almost normal though she has been locked away. We are supposed to believe that Delilah could happily see her family through a peephole and watch as they went through life! The other missing thought to be Delilah is returned to her real family and nothing more is told about her. I feel silly for thinking the story would get better, more put together. Recent books I have enjoyed are “The Martian,” by Andy Weir, “ Lessons in Chemistry,” by Bonnie Garmus, “The Lincoln Highway,” by Amor Towles and my all time favorite, “To Kill a Mockingbird.” I mention these to because the are superbly written and are not a robbery of your time!

Unexpected ending. I love the way it starts because I was hooked from the very beginning. I literally finished the last 100 pages in one evening. I couldn’t put it down!

Wow just wow. Man did this book throw me for a loop! Halfway through the book I thought I had a pretty good idea of what happened but i couldn't have been more wrong. I started putting the pieces together just before they were announced and even then I couldn't believe the turn this book had taken.

Good plot twist. Overall it was a great read, just felt a little long in getting to the good stuff.

Great Writing, Unsatisfying Red Herrings. Fantastic, enticing writing that keeps you turning the pages! You definitely lean into each perspective and find yourself looking for clues, only to be shocked by the big twist. That being said, a few perspectives felt unnecessary, with one being a pretty unsatisfying red herring that felt too easy for the author — it kept the reader confused but didn’t add anything to the plot. Overall, though, I recommend giving this one a read!

So good!. Finished this in two days! Bought the audio book on a road trip then real book to read when I got home. I liked it but I have to say I knew it did it verrrry early on. Still good though!

Stupid ending. The beginning was interesting but the ending was so so stupid and convoluted. So many characters making bizarre, illogical decisions. If you recommend this book I imagine you don’t read many mysteries or you’re 14 years old
