Midnight at malabar. First book of Vaseem Khan and I loved every minute! Great historical novel twisted in a good who dunit and a female inspector, the first in India. I have preordered book 2.

Loved it!. An excellent murder mystery staged at the time of India’s independence. First female Indian police officer, despite all the roadblocks placed in her way, eventually solves the case. Some insights into the politics and societal upset that came with independence and partition un the late 1940s.

Enjoyable start to a new series. A well-written historical detective procedural; a few too many red herrings for my taste, but I'm willing to give Inspector Persis more of my time!
