Couldn’t put it down. And relax........ been on the edge of my seat most of the day reading ‘what lies beneath’ and I’ve just finished it. Adam Croft I have to say that was an incredible read. Fantastic characters in Caroline & Dexter, brilliant plot and great twists & turns along the way. Really glad I started it this morning but really sad it’s now finished. Can’t wait for book 2 👏👏👏😍😍😍 xxx

Good Police procedure who dunnit!!. Literally picked this up on the fly, really great read. Interesting characters and a plot that goes round and round delving into various suspects lives. The big reveal at the end is a good (if not slightly obvious) one. However the two things that shine through are location, Adam Croft easily makes you want to visualise and visit Rutland and the sense of loyalty and family. Looking forward to the next pre-ordered adventure.

Watery. Somehow struggled to care about the characters, who were all a bit one-dimensional save for the protagonist. I was just about interested enough to find out whodunnit, but less so in the personal angst sub-plot.

What Lies Beneath The Cover? A Great Read!. Another blinder of a story that made the book hard to put down from this talented and popular author. As with all his works, Adam Croft has the ability to draw you into his pages to play out the part of his protagonist. Never having been to Rutland, this exciting crime thriller took my mind’s eye through beautiful countryside with a dark secret. I always enjoy a book that leaves you thinking you’ve just seen it on telly. Not to be missed if you enjoy a well written thriller with realistic characters and Adam’s flawless tongue-in-cheek moments that make you chuckle.

Loved it. The characters felt real and the story easy to read. Each chapter made you want to read more. No, I didn’t skip to the end to see ‘who did it?’ However, pleased that the clues were there and I was ahead of the game before the denouement.

Don’t start reading this book.... ...unless you’ve nothing critical that needs to be done. I’ve just read it in one sitting, so that’s a whole afternoon blown but it was worth it. It’s well written, the characters are believable, the police aren’t armed to the teeth with a gung-ho attitude and the perpetrator gets his comeuppance instead of winding up dead. A nice refreshing change. I’m looking forward to the next one.

A good start to this series. It must be hard to find a location Ora l ad character which are different, so we’ll done Adam Croft for doing so here.
