Enchanting and Delightful. I can’t think of a better way to pass the time than to be whisked away to Scotland, falling in love with its beauty, charm, and whimsy, while also falling in love with such wonderful characters! It’s never been part of Ewan’s plans to visit the place where his mother was from, but a surprise letter from a Scottish solicitor sends him there, upending his life an so many ways. He swore he’d never eat haggis or wear a kilt, and was a true cynic when it came to the myths and legends of Scotland, and her certainly didn’t expect to be enchanted be a high-spirited local girl—but watching him change his mind was so much fun! Ewan and Ainslie are a delightful couple—their banter, their teasing, and their passion lit up the pages of this wonderful book! A truly enchanting story in so many ways!

Delightful. I don’t expect to have the opportunity to travel to Scotland myself, but this story is the next best thing - I traveled there through the eyes of Ewan, seeing the vibrant scenery and feeling a bit of the magical connection with the people and culture. And while I may feel a bit of affinity to Scotland because I have distant ancestors from there, I can’t think of another book that made it seem so tangible that I looked up from my iPad and expected to see rain pummeling down during the hiking scene. The flow of the budding relationship, the quick-witted dialog, the entire cast of characters blend to give this a wonderful, satisfying read!
