Hilarious Mystery!!. Maddie and Noah are both fighting their attraction towards each other.it’s been a while since I read a Denise Grover Swank book but it seems as though I have some catching up to do! She managed to make a totally serious dangerous mystery into a RomCom of sorts. I loved the banter and the plot twists that were mover seen coming b. A wild ride. This is the second book in the Maddie Baker Mystery series and needs to be read in order. The plot for the first half of the book took a while for me to become invested in and was slower paced than I would have preferred. However, it set up an action packed second half that at times had my head spinning. There was layer upon layer of storyline that in a way was too much going on at once, but managed to still work. Ms. Swank managed to surprise me with the twist of who the mastermind behind the series of events was. I continued to enjoy the duel perspective of both Maddie and Noah in this book. Similar, to the first book, if we hadn’t been in Noah’s head to see his reasoning, I don’t think I would have liked him at all. Overall, an engaging read once the plot picked up and I look forward to the next book.

Addicting!. Bake Off completely drew me in like no other. The suspense, and mystery just leaves you wanting to discover more. The plot twist was jaw dropping! I didn’t expect it and didn’t see it coming at all! It was so good! There were so many scenes that were hilarious and I enjoyed how it was spaced out evenly throughout the book. I really enjoyed the police procedure in Noah’s POV. Seeing the Easter eggs here and there from the authors other series is always fun to spot!! I can’t wait to see what happens in Cockamamie next!

My favorite Author. It’s so easy to get swept away into the the story and fall in love with the characters. Couldn’t put it down.

Loved it!. I highly recommend this second book in the Maddie Baker series. Not only is there murder, mystery and the story of will they or will they not get pasted their past life’s? In this second book Maddie gets caught up in trying to figure out what happens when a girl who shows up for her self defense class goes missing. While Noah is trying to do his job he is struggling with his past and trying to figure out if a relationship with Maddie is worth it. This one was a page turner and reading the bonus content just adds more icing on the story. Thanks for the great story. -Sarah. Small Town Mystery. Bake Off is the second book in the Maddie Baker Mystery series. This is a well written story about the small town Cockamamie, Tennessee. Maddie Baker is a young woman who has moved back home to take care of her aunt who has dementia. She encounters multiple challenges. Denise’s characters are well developed. They are depicted with real life problems, pains and struggles. Cockamamie has been overwhelmed with burglaries. Maddie inadvertently becomes involved in the investigation that is filled with moments of excitement and intrigue. This is a good book. I received an advanced copy of this book from Booksprout in return for an honest review.

Bake off. Wow, DGS never fails! What an amazing book. I love Maddie and Noah and Lance and Mallory so much! I can’t wait for more!!!

Murder, Suspense & Love. I absolutely love this book, the story line and characters! Maddie and Noah are absolutely fantastic together. They would be that is, if they can get through past trauma and give love a try! Denise Grover Swank is brilliant and has done it again! Read this series, trust me, you’ll be glad you did!

Love this new series. Denise Grover Swank writes complex and layered characters and Maddie Baker is her newest fierce heroine. This story starts out strong with an interaction between Maddie and a mysterious character. From there the storyline is propelled by Denise’s trademark witty dialogue and a series of twists and turns that left me guessing until the end. Maddie’s story is filled with action, angst and romance and is everything I hope for when I read one of Denise’s stories. Readers are going to LOVE this book ❤️📖❤️ I already can’t wait for more from Maddie and the cast of characters in Cockamamie, Tennessee.

Loved this book!. I won’t say too much so I don’t spoil anything, but I did not see the end coming! I was trying to guess the killer the whole time and was definitely surprised. Love DGS and Love her books

So excited for this series to continue!. So excited for this series to continue! After the first explosive book where we were left with somewhat of a cliffhanger, I was so excited to see where Denise would take these characters, and it was so unexpected! Picking up after the last book, Maddie has decided (thanks to her boss at the coffee shop) to offer a self-defense class to the women of the town, and after a large turnout, she meets a woman that is clearly scared for her life and asking for additional help. Agreeing to meet the next day and help, Maddie gets worried when the woman doesn’t show up and she gets a strange call the night before. She enlists help from Noah and his partner Lance, even though she hasn’t heard from Noah since everything that happened and is pretty hurt about it. Even though Noah and Lance have their own case they are working on, they still agree to help Maddie, especially when Maddie’s ex-boyfriend shows up in town and won’t take no for an answer of getting back together. I loved that somehow all the different aspects of the book intertwined and were involved with each other and the explosive ending had me shocked to know that it even stemmed as far back as the last book! I love how Denise writes suspense books, and this one was no exception. I can’t wait to see what happens next – I’m rooting for Maddie and Noah! I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Absolutely loved it. Absolutely loved this latest installment in the Maddie Baker series! The mystery was full of suspense and had me on the edge of my seat throughout! That plot twist though!!! I also enjoyed getting Noah’s POV. I feel like it really filled out the story. I couldn’t put it down and completely devoured it in one sitting! Can’t wait to see what happens next!

Awesome Book!. I just love Maddie Baker and this amazing mystery series! Bake Off is filled with tons of action, a bit of romance, and some humor. I love these characters, and having both Maddie and Noah’s POV makes it even better. Even the secondary characters are multi-dimensional and very well developed. Denise is such an amazing storyteller! This book was very engaging, suspenseful, and hard to put down. There were lots of twists and turns along the way that will leave you super surprised. I can’t wait for the next one!

Amazing. I absolutely love these books and hope this turns into a long series. I have read and loved so many of DGS ‘s books, and they are all wonderful- I still wasn’t sure I would like any character as much as I did Rose, however, Maddie is equally as awesome with her hilarious thoughts and comments, quick wit and brave personality. The writing is great, the storyline is great and I really love reading from Noah’s perspective too- I am rooting for Maddie and Noah being together and working together to solve mysteries. I completely respect DGS’s writing process but I really hope she gets the next book out soon!

Intriguing. Kept my interest

Good mystery!. A great 2nd installment with Maddie Baker. Maddie just cant help herself and gets caught up in another murder mystery. I love how many different storylines are going on at once. Im ready for #3!

Loved it!. Yet another amazing mystery by DGS! I’m loving the all of the vibes in Cockamamie! Small towns seem to have all of the best mysteries. One thing I would probably think best to point out would be the different POVs in this book. I loved having both Noah and Maddie’s. It definitely painted the pretty picture of how much they like each other and I can’t wait to see what craziness goes down in town next book and crossing my fingers that they make their way to each other! ;).
