Winnetou I by Karl May Book Summary
Als Hauslehrer einer deutschen Familie in St. Louis und später als Landvermesser bei der Eisenbahngesellschaft Atlantic and Pacific Company, beginnt für den zukünftigen Old Shatterhand das Abenteuer in Amerika. Seine Begleitung, die erfahrenen Westmänner Sam Hawkens, Dick Stone und Will Parker, stehen ihm bei der Arbeit als Surveyor bei. Besonders Sam Hawkens nimmt sich des jungen Landvermessers an und nimmt ihn mit auf die Büffel- und Mustangjagd. Es dauert nicht lange, bis sich die Besitzer des Landes, die Apachen mit ihrem Häuptling Intschu-tschuna und seinem Sohn Winnetou, bei der Truppe zeigen und ihre Rechte verteidigen wollen.
Die Erzählungen von Karl May veröffentlicht die "Edition Palmbyte" in der lizenzfreien deutschen Originalausgabe. Die eTexte sind in der altdeutschen Diktion und Orthografie belassen worden.
